I am going abroad for 2 months over Christmas / New Year and I am looking to rent out my room while I’m away from mid December until start of February. The room is available up until Saturday 5th February (you can stay for shorter if it works better for you and appropriate rent costs e. g. for 6 weeks. If you need to come earlier than the 12th December or stay later also do let me know as I can work around that.
This would make an excellent base for someone moving to London and then looking to move onto somewhere more permanent or going between flats.
The flat could not be in a better location. It’s 30 seconds from Canonbury Overground meaning you can be at Oxford Circus in 20 minutes, Stratford in 10 and Hackney in 5. The flat is 20 mins walk to Angel down New River Walk (really nice nature trail), 15 mins to either Dalston or Highbury and Islington. Clissold Park and Highbury Fields are 5 minutes away and there’s loads of nice coffee shops and restaurants at Newington Green at the end of the street and green grocers selling fresh fruit and veg and essentials. The area is AMAZING.
The Room: the room is south facing (lots of sun) and has views over the city (can see the shard and city lights at night). It has full office equipment if you need to work from home (monitor, office chair & desk, keyboard mouse etc). There’s a double bed (king size duvet), wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet. I have bedding, pillows, towels etc you are welcome to use. Some of my stuff will still be there but they’ll be plenty of cupboard space for you to use for clothes. Happy to send more pictures / do a video call. You can also speak to my friend who’s staying in the room just now as well. She is there for 3 months from September to December. I also have an exercise mat, dumbbell etc you can use. There isn’t an en-suite but 1 shared bathroom !
The flat: the flat has 3 bedrooms and my two flatmates will also be there too. We have a big shared living room / kitchen with TV, Gaggia espresso machine and grinder, 2 sofa’s fridge freezer etc. We live communally so we usually all cook together / share food. We have every sauce / spice under the sun and are into very cooking. We got all the kitchen appliances: blender, slow cooker, rice cooker, microwave etc. We work a mixture between the office and home so some days they will be about and other times they’ll be in the office during the day. There is bike storage outside the flat on the railings (unsecured) and I can leave 2 strong D locks to use. Usually in the weekday evenings we cook together and watch a film / TV shows. Both my flatmates are female and are 24/25 and work in central London in advertising and compliance. The flat is a Victorian conversion and we have the top two floors. The room is on the top floor
You: looking for someone who is easy going and can slot into flat life. Happy to have a chat with anyone to see if you’d be a good fit and tell you a bit more about the flat/ area/ room too.
Costs: rent is £794 and bills £110. This includes everything like TV license, water, energy, council tax, internet etc. Happy to discuss any concessions here and as above costs can be appropriated for however long you stay.
