We want to know who we'd be sharing our home with. We can have a video meeting and tour before you visit in person and see the place.

The room is currently occupied by myself but will be cleared before a new tenant moves in.
I hope for a move-in date of early-mid May, but I can be flexible around this. I want to meet and have a settle-in period with the tenant before we start travelling in late May.

This ad is for a double room in a newly renovated house on the 1st floor. The bathroom and toilet (separate) on the 1st floor are shared with another tenant, but there is a shower and toilet on the ground floor too.

The room is currently semi-furnished (wardrobe, sofa, desk, and table, but no bed - I just sleep on the floor) but a bed can be supplied.

Coucil tax and broadband bills are included. Electricity, gas, and water will be divided between the occupants each month.
The cost of this varies between £35 in summer and upto £75 in winter.

The house has two other tenants. I am a live-in landlord but I'm planning on travelling with my family for the next year. While we may return occasionally, you would mostly be in the house with the two other tenants.

We have a front and back garden which tenants are welcome to spend time in. The front garden faces the road but the back garden is quiet. There is off-street parking in the front garden and a shed in the back garden.
There is a large shared kitchen, a common room that is currently empty (used as a yoga classroom), and a 2nd shower and toilet on the ground floor.

There are bus stops less than a minute's walk from the house that go to Kingsbury and Colindale stations which take about 10 minutes by bus or a 20 minutes walk. We are a 10-15 minute walk from two high-streets, four supermarkets, a gym, and numerous restaurants, pubs, and shops (but far away enough to not have the noise).
We are also close to multiple large parks and a small lake.

Ideally, we're looking for a tenant who is clean, tidy, quiet, conscientious, and interested in casual friendship (occasional meals and activities together) but who is self-sufficient and independent. Though, a tenant that values privacy and solitude is also fine.

A willingness to contribute to home maintenance is required. Particularly, we're interested in someone who will look after the front and back garden while we're away.

About us:
My name is Michael and I'm a self-employed science teacher and home DIY-er. Mibun, my wife, works from home as a yoga teacher. Lucy is a 1 year old baby who is generally well behaved. As mentioned, we plan to travel so will only return occasionally.

When we have the time, we enjoy hiking and cycling in nature, watching reality programmes (history, nature, philosophy etc), gardening, and board games. I, Michael, also like computer and table-top roleplaying games and a good beer while Mibun enjoys cooking.

The other tenants are Indian and Chinese females who are both quiet and tidy.
One is PhD educated with a speciality in language and mostly keeps to herself in the loft-apartment.
The other is Ms educated and works in a cinema and when she's not at work she's mostly watching films or listending to music (quietly) in her room.
They are both nice, and we sometimes have dinner together and would be interested in occasional social dinners/movie nights in.
