We have a small double bedroom to rent in our flat in De Beauvoir, Haggerston/Dalston.
The flat itself is very secure and within a block that requires a swipe key entrance and is on the top floor (there is a lift too). The estate is very quiet and family orientated. Many residents have lived here for years. It’s a two storey maisonette with a gated entrance. Downstairs contains a toilet, hallway, large living room, good size kitchen with utility space and a south facing balcony with great views of the cityscape and brilliant for BBQ’s in the summer. Upstairs contains a bathroom with shower/bath, storage space, three bedrooms and a landing.
The room itself is a small double room with a built in wardrobe and north facing balcony. It is furnished with a double bed and shelves and small chest of drawers.
We are located on Downham Road between Dalston and Shoreditch off Kingsland Road. It’s a 5 minute walk to Haggerston station with overground links to Highbury and Islington (Victoria line), a 10 minute walk to Dalston Junction and a 15 minute walk to Shoreditch and Columbia Road. We are surrounded by great pubs (The Scolt, The Talbot, Dukes and The Fox) and a very close to the canal which has a canal path to Victoria Park and Angel. There are close bus links to Old Street, Waterloo, London Bridge, Shoreditch, Liverpool Street and Stoke Newington. There is a Tesco at the end of the road, two great cafes on Downham Road and two convenience stores directly opposite.
You will be sharing with 2 creative professional girls (theatre, design and film) with varied work hours/situations. 1 freelance, with 1 working from home. We have absolutely loved living here for the past 5 years. We would like the flat to remain homely and calm. We feel it’s important to have respect for each other and require an employed professional who is capable of keeping the flat clean and tidy, contributing to the management of the property. We occasionally have friends over for dinner etc and have had a couple of house parties in the past year but this definitely isn’t a ‘party flat’.
There is an opportunity to apply for off road parking within the block’s car park.
Smoking is okay on the balconies.
