Room on Beautiful Dutch Barge - Limehouse

I'm living on a beautiful barge in Limehouse Marina and I'm looking for a new shipmate.

The boat is a big dutch barge called Verwachting which means Expectation.

The rent is on a short-mid term basis as the boat is for sale, so as soon as it sells we'll be given notice and will need to leave. I have no idea how long that will be but I've been here almost a year now and the viewings have slowed down a lot, so while it could be within a couple of months it could also be much longer.

There are two rooms a big one which is a large double with an enormous bed and a small cabin with a single bed and low head room. I've lived in both and they each have their own charm. The small one has windows that you can see out so you get a view out over the water in the mornings, and it's also attached to the wheel house, which is a lovely place to sit and eat breakfast or to drink a glass of wine. I don't mind which I live in so it would be up to your needs. It's £850 for the big room and £750 for the small one. The deposit is one month's rent

I'd be happy to consider couples. It's a large boat and the bedrooms are at either end but there aren't any doors, only curtains so it's not hugely private.

The boat also doubles up as my studio as I work from home making wedding dresses. I always tidy up at the end of the day and put my work stuff away so it feels like a home again. I also have a collie dog who's very loving and very clever.

I don't have a tv and quite like it that way but am not opposed to snuggling up and watching a film or documentary once in a while. I really like gathering people together to do nice things so sometimes I invite friends over to do a clothes swap, or make natural face creams and balms, or we have a night that's called Folk Afloat and people bring a song or a poem or a story to share, but most of the time it's peaceful and quiet.

There is a wood burning stove and a diesel boiler so we can keep nice and warm in the winter. I can't say how much we usually spend but electric is really cheap, water is free and we just fill up the diesel tank when it's empty and that depends on how much we've been using it.

The room is available from the 9th October.
