Hey guys, unfortunately we can't take any more interest at the minute as over 15 people have got in touch in the first 12 hours of the advert being live...
Hey! Our housemate is moving home in July and we're looking for someone to take over her room. This apartment is located super-close to Bermondsey St. in SE1 and is by far and away the best place I’ve ever lived in London, with incredible communal spaces and a good outdoor space!
The en-suite room is a great sized double, particularly for someone working from home, and comes fully furnished with a double bed, triple wardrobe, desk and bedside table. There’s a really large window that keeps the room well lit during the day, but also cool during the summer.
The apartment itself is fantastic and has a huge open plan living room/dining room/kitchen that’s absolutely the standout feature of the place. That room has a full wall of south-east facing windows that get the sun all day, making it an awesome plant room and a good space to work from home in at the desk or kitchen table. It’s a really great place to have people round in, and we work really hard to make it a really nice and welcoming space. Compared to places I’ve previously lived, which had no living room or dining room and a tiny, cramped kitchen, this place is a god-send in this regard.
The house also has a great sized terrace for summer BBQs, tonnes of storage space throughout the flat, and a lift in the building.
The en-suite room is available for £875 pcm
These exclude bills (which generally tally up to around 80-90 a month). The house is crazy energy efficient, and 90% of the bill is council tax. Ideally, you’d be working, and not a student, so the council tax would be split equitably among three people as opposed to just one or two, but students would absolutely be welcome if they’d be willing to contribute to council tax 😊
The landlord has said they’d consider pets too, which is a huge plus and I’d absolutely love to have a small friend or two around the house. The landlord is really friendly and approachable about issues, and understands that we want to make this a home and not a house, and is very supportive of us taking design decisions (fancy repainting the hallway? Knock yourself out!) to support this goal.
There are no agency fees or anything like that for when you move in too, which is a plus.
We are very considerate housemates and am very clean and respectful of the communal spaces. We love to live frivolously with chocolate, face masks and Netflix under the guise of self-care, and we are always up for a chat, cooking together or going to the pub, and we're very happy for anyone of any gender to move in - my only ask would be that you’re a kind, clean and considerate person too 😊
I really cannot stress how great both the apartment and the location are. There’s always so much going on in the local area in terms of music, art, food and drink, and with London bridge as the local tube stop, you’re never far from anything. I’ve found the area really safe and friendly, and the other residents in the building have been very welcoming, and the same goes for the area more widely.
The room is available from the 14th November.
