I am looking for a new flatmate to replace me in our very nice modern duplex. Located 5 mins from Old Street tube station. I am leaving the flat after almost 3 years because I have moved in with my boyfriend. I am therefore flexible with moving-in dates. This has been the best flat in the ten years I have lived in London - a great apartment with lovely flatmates. You will be in nice and comfortable home, especially during these homebound times.
THE ROOM:
A bright, double bedroom, with a very high ceiling (hard to capture in the pictures!) and access to your own side of the balcony through the massive window door. All the furniture in the pictures stays in the room, except the desk which was a self-purchase. The bed allows for extra storage underneath and the wardrobe and chest-in-drawers are also spacious. You would share the bright, modern bathroom with one other person (Anna) whose room is also on the same floor.
Rent is 907 pounds + currently around 70 pounds for bills.
The building has an elevator and a garage to which you can request access.
THE LOCATION:
The apartment is situated just off City Road, at a quiet part of it. It is very close to Hoxton and Shoreditch, a 15-minute walk to Angel or to Barbican/Moorgate in the other direction, and a 20-25 walk to Liverpool St. You are also a few minutes away from the canal and Shoreditch Park.
A mid-sized Sainsbury’s and Tesco are very close by, as are a number of restaurants (independent café around the corner, Pizza Union, Plate, Itsu, Pret, etc.).
THE ROOMMATES:
You’d be sharing with three friendly people in an international setting: Alexis is French and works as a finance analyst. Anna is British-South African and works in executive search. Margot is French and a business development manager for a luxury goods company. We have dinners from time to time together (Margot is an excellent cook!), like to share a glass of wine sometimes, attend cultural events (when it was still possible - Anna keeps good track of these). At the same time, we respect each others’ quiet time. We have a good relationship with our landlord who is responsive and reliable. You’d be taking over my part in the lease and pay rent directly to the landlord.
