Lovely quiet room in big flat near Holloway Road

A lovely double room, with parquet floors and lots of light, in a flat in an Edwardian mansion block on a quiet leafy street, just minutes away from Holloway Road. The flat has a beautiful living room, a bedroom and a study that are mine, and a big kitchen and good-sized bathroom. The flat is very quiet and peaceful, despite being very near Holloway Road and close to many transport links.

The flat is located a few minutes from Holloway Road, with a wealth of useful shops (Waitrose, Sainsburys, Lidl, Boots, Argos) and lots of restaurants. There is no shortage of places to eat, as well as cafes and little grocers' shops. The flat is not far from Archway, Highbury & Islington, and Caledonian Road. There is a lovely little park just round the corner (Penn Road Gardens), and Highbury Fields is a 19-minute walk, as is Whittington Park. Waterlow Park and Hampstead Heath are a bit further but easily reachable by bus or overground. The Odeon Luxe cinema is about five minutes walk away.

The transport links are fantastic. Holloway Road tube is the nearest (Piccadilly Line, 5 mins away), with Caledonian Road tube 10 mins away (also Piccadilly). The Overground at Upper Holloway is 20 minutes walk away (with plenty of buses that go very frequently). Highbury and Islington tube (Overground, Victoria Lines) is 20 minutes walk away, with multiple buses going there too. Numerous buses go from just around the corner: 21, 263, 4, 393, 43, 17, 259, 91, 254, 253. Buses go north to Archway/Highgate, west to Tufnell Park, East and SE to Highbury and Islington and Hackney, or South to Kings Cross, Euston, Angel, and Central London. We are spoilt for options!

I work about half of the week at home. I teach and practice psychotherapy, and like a pretty quiet and relaxed home environment. The flat is very lovely and will make a nice weekday home for someone looking for a London base during the week.

The room would be available until autumn 2024, possibly beyond that.
