About the flat:
I've been living here for two years now and really love this flat! My favourite part is probably the large, private garden in the back. To the left and the right are friendly neighbours (one who's happy for you to pick apples from her tree in the autumn!), and beyond the garden is the Overground. You'll hear a train every once in a while if you've got the windows open, and it gives wonderful privacy! The door to the garden is through my room, and I'll provide access pretty much whenever. I also have a hammock and camping chair that you're welcome to use!
The bathroom is nice and modern, with storage both above and below the sink as well as a large bathtub for prime soaking.
If you love a good kitchen, this is the place for you. With a large fridge, ample storage, and a dishwasher (!!!), the space is perfectly equipped for all of your cooking and baking needs. If you don't have many cooking tools, no worries, as I have a few nice pots and pans that you can always use.
The living room is right off of the kitchen and has a big window to let in natural light (and curtains when you want more privacy), and includes a dining table that opens up to seat up to 10 people, a comfy couch to relax on, and space for you to put up a bookcase, storage, or that great sculpture you made a few years ago and just didn't have the space to display. Considering you're only a couple of minutes from Kilburn High Road, it's very quiet inside, which is great if you work from home sometimes, as I do.
About the room:
The room is a lovely single that will come furnished if you'd like, but which also could fit a larger bed (I've had at least a queen-sized bed in there before). It's got a beautiful view of the garden and lots of natural light, and it also includes a closet for storage (along with a dresser if you want).
About the area:
The flat is in Zone 2 and in a prime location for transportation, with Kilburn Underground about a 4-minute walk away, Brondesbury Overground a 3-minute walk, and West Hampstead Thameslink about a 10-minute walk. You've got a local Sainsbury's a couple of minutes away (with a larger one about 15-minutes down the road), some nice pubs right around the corner, and the independent Kiln Cinema if you want to check out a cool movie or show!
On Saturday mornings, the West Hampstead Farmer’s Market is a 10-minute walk up the road for fresh food (I highly recommend the raisin bread from Artisan Foods) and great dog watching! If you're more of a park person, you've got Queen's Park (20-minute walk) and Paddington Recreation Ground (30-minute walk), or you can hop on the Mildmay line to get to Hampstead Heath in less than 10 minutes.
About me:
I'm Rebecca, a 33-year old American who's been living in London since 2021. I work part-time at a tea shop and also part-time as a tutor/educator, meaning I split my time between working outside the home during the day and working from home some evenings. It also means that, if you like drinking tea/matcha, you're more than welcome to help yourself to the teas I've amassed! I'm also known for my baked goods and will happily share what I've made. I like my home to be somewhere where I can relax, whether it's through sitting outside and soaking up the sun, trying out a new recipe, or working my way through some cross stitch project. I'm looking for a flatmate who's respectful of others, relatively tidy, and happy to spend some time together as our schedules permit, but also comfortable in their own space as well.
Please note that the photos are from before I moved in, but the general structure of the flat is still the same!
If you've made it this far and are interested, please send me a message! I'm looking to fill the room by mid-April, ideally.
