My spare room is available from mid April.
The room is furnished and available from Sun 14 Apr (but you'd have the option of moving some stuff in the house if you need to and/or to have the room unfurnished if you have your own furniture) and you'd be sharing with me and my two children, 13 and 10; we also have two cats, Mia and Ollie - Ollie is in one of the photos of the kitchen.
As my kids are girls, I'd prefer a female/non-binary/queer person. I'd prefer a long term arrangement but I'm open to shorter term options too.
The girls have their own floor in the loft with their own shower room, so you'd only be sharing the bathroom with me. (Italiani che leggete- c'e' anche il bidet! ). I'm a young 47 year old, originally from Italy, I work in the arts and I love everything theatre related. I'm also a very good cook and enjoy sharing food with people. I also teach yoga part time!
You'd have shared use of the kitchen (with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier), dining room and living room.
The house is in South Norwood, (South East London - SE25) Ross road is a quiet, residential road, right by Grangewood park, and there is a real sense of community with all the neighbours.
The house has five bedrooms, plenty of natural light because it's not overlooked and it sits higher than the road below and a large private garden for when the weather is nicer. Your room would be overlooking the garden so it's extra quiet.
We're about 15 minutes walk from Norwood Junction, with the overground and fast trains into London Bridge and King's Cross and 20 minutes walk from Thornton Heath station with trains to Balham for the Northern line or Clapham Junction and Victoria.
The bus stop is just over 5 minutes walk away, with busses going to Brixton and further into town. The SL6 express bus gets you into central London and back in peak time in under an hour, a cheap alternative to trains and tube.
