The Room:
The bedroom is a decent size, it not huge but, it definitely has enough for what the standard uses of a bed room are. It’s currently has a double bed, large chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Although if you wanted to bring your own furniture instead then I can arrange for it to be removed.
The bed room is bright and opens on to the garden! There is a very pretty spiral staircase leading from the room to the garden. Access to the garden is only via the bedroom, so you would need to be OK with the occasional pass through,.. (never without knocking/asking)
The Garden:
The garden is a decent size a work in progress, Im not too green fingered but have made an effort this past year, you should have seen it before lockdown. However having outside space really helped this year. And if the new flatmate wants to get stuck in
The flat itself:
The room is one of two in a cosy apartment located on quiet street in SW8, 5 mins walk to Oval Tube, 10 mins walk to Vauxhall and Stockwell tube stations. While it is officially a ‘ground floor’ flat, there are stairs to the front door and also from the flat to the garden, once inside the flat everything is on the same level.
Both bedrooms are located at opposite ends of the flat, with the living room, bathroom and kitchen in between them, so you have your own space and privacy when needed.
The flat is fairly compact but The living-room, dining area and kitchen all flow into each other which make it more open a spacious and there is plenty of character and quirks that make it a lovely space to live in.
The Living room/ dining room is bright in the day with a large window looking onto the garden, but lends itself to a cosy little TV nook at night, I have a smart TV and very happy to add a profile on Netflix for you :P
The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, Fan oven, gas hob, a dishwasher, Nespresso Latissima( milk frother!), Washing machine, I have most things a kitchen needs, and I’m very happy to share these with flatmates
The newly revamped bathroom is shared, with a bathtub and over the bath shower, very well done and good water pressure and most importantly no damp clingy shower curtains to wrestle with. The flat has a combination boiler so there’s always hot water and central heating throughout.
The Flatmate:
I’m Tom, but I am a tenant not the landlord. I’m 34 cis gay man. I’m single. I work as a Business analyst, however was recently made redundant so I’m looking for a new job currently.
I like cooking, before covid a dinner party at the flat was fairtly regular, hoping that can happen again soon. I’ve recently taken up sewing and im a bit obsessed so that is the hobby the consumes the most of my time….(and please tell me if I have stray threads in any beard when you come for a viewing)
I want to share the flat with someone who wants to keep the place looking nice, and doesn’t mind doing their bit. I want to share the flat, cook a few meals, watch a bit of tv, bbq together enjoy the space and each others company,
I am the current tenant, I have lived at the Flat for 4/5 years. The landlady have given me permission to look for a housemate The existing tenancy is now on a rolling basis. But the landlady is happy to keep it at the same rates as long as Im here. So I am open to shorter term rentals and even a trial period to see if we live well together, before committing to a fixed term tenancy agreement...but equally happy to get that right away should you prefer.
The rent is £850 for the room, bills are about £10O-£150 and there is room to negotiation to get them lower. I'd prefer to live With another gay man, but I am open to anyone getting in touch. However the room is not available to couples.
