Would you like to join two kind, considerate, self aware and chill housemates?

We’re looking for someone brilliant to join our house share in our unique, quiet and beautiful flat in Muswell Hill, North London. It’s available now, but we’re not in any rush as it’s been a spare room/office for the last year. We’re Adam and Craig, both late thirties working in media / tech. The flat is very much our home, and we’re looking for someone similar who wants to invest in the houseshare and make it their home too.

It's an incredible place to live and a really unique find for London renting. It’s one of six in a converted period property set back from a main thoroughfare in Muswell Hill - a few minutes from The Broadway and all its shops.

The flat itself has a combined kitchen and lounge which is the beautiful sun room / conservatory in the pictures. This leads directly down to our massive shared garden, which is such a brilliant asset for us and is a big sun trap in the summer. It’s bloody lovely. We also have a private balcony, with gas BBQ, that leads off from the lounge/conservatory and also catches the sun too (not shown in pics). You'd be sharing the bathroom with just Craig (as Adam has ensuite). The kitchen has washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and microwave. The lounge has a TV/Virgin/Netflix - and the sofa is a sofa bed if we ever have any guests staying for a weekend. There’s also a secure bike shed and parking space on the driveway.

The flat is managed by a trust who spend a great deal of care looking after it and the grounds - they’re brilliant with any issues that need addressing. There’s no dodgy landlord.

Your bedroom faces out onto our private driveway and you’ll share the bathroom with one other. There’s a really spacious built-in wardrobe. It’s unfurnished, but there’s a chest of drawers and desk (that you don’t need to keep) and plenty of room if you’re currently working from home.

The house is very relaxed and calm - and it’s really important to us that we retain that atmosphere. We spend a lot of time doing our own thing, but do come together for a night out or dinner every so often. We’re definitely not a party house and tend to do most of our partying away from the flat - but we do have the odd gathering for our birthdays / Christmas / Halloween. It’s important you are LGBTQ+ friendly.

Adam
Quiet, bad at small talk, bit of a geek, very open minded, easy going, curious, works for a tech startup, vegetarian. Loves stand up comedy, badminton, tech, science, podcasts and life's big questions. INTP.

Craig
Introverted extrovert, loves telly, the gym, good journalism, the outdoors and buying clothes I can’t afford. I make films for a living. I’m passionate about diversity, good mental health and 90’s pop music. I love chatting about life’s big questions with Adam.

The flat is situated on the north side of Muswell Hill, which if you’re not familiar with it, has an amazing range of shops, restaurants and cafes. Highgate station on the Northern Line is 5 minutes away on the bus. Finsbury Park is 15 minutes away via the direct W7 bus and you can also get to Bounds Green on the Picadilly line from the bus stop right outside the flat. That stop is also served by the 43 bus from London Bridge, via Old Street / Angel / Holloway and the 134 bus from Tottenham Court Road via Camden / Kentish Town / Archway. We love the fact we’re so connected to central London but live in a more village-y area.

Unfortunately, no pets are allowed. We do have some friendly squirrels though 🐿.

The boring bit:

The rent is £757 per month, the deposit is £635. Our bills total around £170 each per month - this is for council tax, gas & electricity, TV license, water and Virgin TV/internet. We also have a cleaner because we figured we deserve it in our late thirties. She’s proper lovely. So all in, £927 per month.
