Double-bed in bright Newington Green 2-bed 2-floor flat. £700/month all-in (£550 rent + £150 flat rate for all bills & fortnightly cleaner). Available 1st August (flexible).
Hello there! My excellent flatmate Adam is sadly moving out after two years here, so I'm looking for someone new and equally excellent to share with. (I'd also consider a Mon-Fri let for £495 all-in).
About the flat:
The room (pictured with two different set-ups) has a bright leafy view looking south to the City. It's narrow but over 15ft / 4.5m long, with a small double-bed, bedside table, shelf unit and built-in wardrobe. There's space for a desk, and next to the bedroom is another large built-in cupboard just for you too.
Also upstairs there's a bathroom with shower, a separate loo, my room, plus a third smaller room which I've turned into a study (my work is split between home, clients and shoots). Downstairs there's a kitchen with dining area, and a separate living room with two sofas and a spare bookcase you can fill. The block has its own off-street car park and cycle locker, so there's space for you or guests if available.
The rent includes fibre-optic unlimited broadband, 100% green energy, and subscription to ‘Who Gives A Crap’ 100% recycled loo roll :-)
The location:
The area is super leafy and green. It's a very short walk to Dalston, Stoke Newington, Islington, and Clissold Park (which has a gym with indoor pool); and a half-hour walk to London Fields and Broadway Market.
10 mins cycle to Shoreditch; 25 mins cycle to Soho.
2 mins walk to loads of buses (21, 73, 141, 236, 341, 476); and 9 mins walk to Zone 2 Overground stations (Canonbury & Dalston Kingsland), getting you door-to-door to central London in under half an hour.
About me:
I'm Elliot, a native Londoner, though have lived in lots of different places. I work as a cultural anthropologist and filmmaker, am a bit nerdy, sometimes silly, and enjoy stuff like cooking, reading, cycling, pub quizzing, and playing the guitar badly. I rarely watch telly, more likely an occasional movie on the projector from Netflix/Prime, or a comedy episode before bed (favourites include ‘It’s Always Sunny’, ‘What We Do In The Shadows’, and currently ‘Chewing Gum’').
Ideally looking for someone easy-going, preferably into creative/geeky stuff too, and happy to sometimes natter nonsense over the occasional shared meal. Either way should be considerate, clean and tidy too.
This isn't a party pad, but is a home - so friends / partners are welcome - as long as we respect the neighbours and give each other a heads up.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers!
Elliot
