Hi! I’m looking for a new flatmate in a 2-bed flat, a 10-minute walk from Old Street Station.
*The house*
It’s a well-located 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom maisonette (2 stories) with cosy decor.
Downstairs, there’s a spacious, bright living room (includes a 4-6 person extendable dining table, fold-out sofabed), toilet and kitchen (with washing machine, dryer, dish washer, microwave, blender, and a huge fridge/freezer).
Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom (including a bath and showerhead). We have a little garden too (gardeners welcome).
Your room faces a quiet cul de sac and gets the morning sun. There’s lots of cupboard space — a unit right around the bed and a cupboard in the wall. There’s also a mirror, laundry bag and a chair.
Alongside proximity to Old Street Station, it’s a 5-minute walk to green space at Shoreditch park & 10 mins to the canal. 5 mins to cute coffee spots and <1 min from Santander cycle station.
*The housemate*
I’m 28 and have lived in London for a few years. I’ve lived in this apartment for a year now, and love the area. My previous flatmate is having to leave for a new job out of the country.
I’ve worked in the world of AI for a while now in different roles, currently in the civil service. Beyond work, my interests include climbing, reading, playing guitar, and exploring the wide variety of things going on across London.
*The vibe*
I think you’ll like this place if you’re looking for:
- A flatmate you enjoy living with—where home feels comfortable and sociable for both of us. Ideally we’d enjoy chatting when we cross paths and be happy to overlap when we’re hosting friends, without obligation if we’re busy.
- Feeling relaxed about having guests. I have friends over every so often, and have a partner who’ll likely stay over 1-2 nights a week (and I’ll be out a similar amount). I’d be glad to see the space used by you too!
- Tidy but low pressure. I clean every couple of weeks and keep things tidy, but I like to keep it low pressure too.
If you work from home sometimes, there’s a desk downstairs we can share. I usually work from home up to2 days a week and maybe half a day at the weekend—happy to coordinate.
*Logistics*
Monthly cost is £1075 Rent and bills come to £155-180.
There is a break clause on the lease in August 2026, but the contract can last another 18 months longer if at least one of us is eager to stay. Happy to chat closer to the time.
