Hello!
I am looking for someone to replace me in a lovely flatshare in Oval. This is a really great flat with a fantastic housemate - I am only moving to relocate closer to my new job.
*** Travel ***
The flat is a 10-12 minute walk from Oval station on the Northern line. It's also within walking distance to Stockwell on the Victoria line and Vauxhall for overground. There are really good bus routes within a 5 minute walk on Brixton road, which get you to Waterloo/Westminster in 20 minutes. Brixton is also a 20 minute walk or less than 10 minutes on the bus. There is a Tesco express and a spar within a 5 minute walk of the flat, and larger supermarkets closer to Stockwell. Also secure bike storage if you cycle!
*** The Apartment ***
The apartment is a really nice new build - it's in a really friendly and secure building with fob access and a lift. It is owned by the current flatmate's friends who he rents it directly off of, so it's very homely, is well looked after and has really high quality furniture. All appliances are like new. The living room has a really nice big dining table and a large balcony with lots of plants. It has a bench and tables/chairs which are great for the summer. The whole flat is really bright, and is also extremely quiet - you can't hear any neighbours or traffic at all.
The other flatmate has an ensuite in his room so you have the whole bathroom to yourself (which is huge, has a bath, a really nice rain shower and massive mirror). The room is on the small side, but there are two large storage cupboards for coats/shoes/suitcases/anything else which even I haven't managed to fill up yet! It also has the comfiest bed I have ever slept on and a Juliet balcony. All furniture will stay apart from the clothes rail which is mine, but you're more than welcome to buy this off me.
The flat is also located opposite a park so there's lots of green space about!
*** Flatmate ***
I have known Cole for years and he is absolutely great to live with! He is an extremely chilled housemate who is currently doing an MBA. He is often busy with work/friends so you'll have the living room space to yourself a lot of the time, and he is also not a big cooker so we never clash with wanting to cook at the same time.
He is great for a chat/movie night/pub trip (the Kennington around the corner is really nice), but also is really respectful and non-imposing to live with. Although he is up for a good night out, he is not the type to have mates over really late or be loud, so it feels like a really peaceful place to live. I will really miss living with Cole so you can expect to have me over for visits every now and then!
*** Logistics / Bills ***
I am really flexible with the move out date, so this is completely negotiable, but needs to be before 1 April.
Cole rents the flat directly from his friends who own it, so there would be a written agreement between you both and the rent would be paid directly to him. This means there are no fees or estate agents to deal with.
The bills are paid by the landlord and we reimburse them so it's very simple to manage. The great thing is that the landlord covers council tax for the flat so this keeps bills really low - around £50 per month. The flat is also a good temperature so we haven't had to turn on the heating all winter which saves a lot! We usually have a cleaner that comes every 2 weeks which we split the cost for - this comes to £20.
Overall this is a really great flat and I will be sad to leave it! I have some time off before starting my new job so can be very flexible with viewings - just send me a message and we can arrange!
