Lovely double room available in cracking shared home in the best area of London! Dealing direct with the landlord so there are no agent fees and its only a 3/4 minute walk from East Dulwich station, 15 minutes to Peckham Rye and a short hop on the bus up to Denmark Hill.

I will be leaving the house after over 4 years. I am only leaving the house as I am planning on shortly leaving London to return to the north, otherwise wild horses couldn’t have moved me - I love living in this house! The house is a shared tenancy with an agreement between the housemates that we find a replacement should we wish to move out. The current house tenancy ends in August but this will be renewed unless otherwise agreed by all housemates (not anticipated).

The house is super close to Lordship Lane which is packed with lots of great pubs, restaurants and independent shops. Peckham Rye is also nearby and great spot for a picnic along with Goose Green. Dulwich Park is also not far, in fact we're rather spoilt with green spaces. East Dulwich is a great community - its a little bit like living in an awesome small town but in zone 2 London and all the transport and connections that provides. I actually know some of our neighbours (I know right?!).

The house is spread over 2 floors with a spacious lounge and open plan dining room, a, huge kitchen with lots of storage, dishwasher, american style fridge/freezer and glorious 6 ring gas oven. There is also a perennially useful downstairs loo. The kitchen has double doors onto a (newly) fully decked garden which we use constantly, especially the double Outback Gas BBQ. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms including the available double room and a large bathroom. There are also two large lofts which are ideal for storage.

The house is rented unfurnished and a large amount of the current communal furniture will be leaving with myself and Jon who will also shortly be advertising his smaller double room for rent. (Might be ideal for anyone looking for a place with a friend but who want separate rooms). This means that this is a great opportunity for someone looking to move into a shared house but has some of their own stuff. However don’t panic if you don’t have anything - the other current housemates have access to a whole bunch of furniture and will ensure that the house is fully equipped going forward. The furniture in my room could be negotiated for purchase separately if desired. There is plenty of space in the side return for bikes to be stored - Jamie cycles to work each day currently.

The available room is in the middle of the house. It is lovely and bright with a large sash window and wood floor. The sun streams into the room in the mornings. The whole house is also very easily heated which makes it a lovely cosy room in the winter too. I have a full size double bed and loads of storage in the room and it still feels nice and spacious.

Jamie and Gabi are the housemates who you would be sharing with along with one other who will move into the smaller double room. Jaime (31) is a trained architect from Spain. Gabi (26) is a graphic designer and illustrator who is currently studying for her masters degree in animation so it is a lovely creative household. They are very friendly, relaxed, considerate and easy going to live with.

As housemates we have always been pretty independent of each other but have loved having big house dinners and barbecues and hanging out. Its been a home rather than a party house or but that's not to say we don't enjoy a wine and the occasional late night! We're tidy folk and houseproud - emphasis on it being a home and not a skanky houseshare. With the spanish influence in the house, no one has ever gone unfed!

East Dulwich Station is a 3 minute walk from the house. Trains go every 10 mins during peak hour to London Bridge station (10 min ride). Denmark Hill station is a couple of minutes up the road by bus.

Bills are around £125 a month. The house has a full sky package including sports and movies, super fast fibre broadband, and a weekly cleaner for the common areas but for a touch extra she can clean your room too. The bills also include all the cleaning bits, toilet rolls, foil, cling film, that sort of thing.

We have direct contact with the landlord so if there is anything that ever needs sorting it gets done very quickly! We have had a brand new washing machine, dishwasher, deck, shower and fridge/freezer in the last couple of years when needed.
