Great house in the South East a 10 min walk from Peckham Rye Station available now.
The House:
A three bedroom house on Peckham Hill Street with the rarest of all luxuries in central London - a garden, which is perfect for BBQs in the summer.
There is a shared living room with 2 sofas and TV, and a separate kitchen with fridge, washer, oven/hob and lots of storage.
The room itself is a decent size and looks out onto the back garden. There is a built-in wardrobe and additional storage in a cupboard on the landing.
Bills come to around £85 a month, so £685 all together pm.
The landlady is lovely. Just drop her a line every now and again to let her know you're taking care of the property.
Your Roommates:
Me (Aaron) and Mike. Very easy going and sociable. You will bond over box sets, movies, good cooking and a glass of wine or beer to go with either of the above.
I work in Health and Policy communications at the British Heart Foundation. In my spare time I can be found out and about in Peckham or Camden where my offices are based (I’m mainly home-based atm although try to get into the office twice a week). I get out for a jog a couple times a week and head to the gym, as well as being a keen tennis fan. I also read a lot, mainly non fiction, and generally like to get out and socialise.
Mike manages bars and restaurants and has an excellent knowledge of good food and drink. If you're lucky, he'll do pasta Mondays and transport you to Naples in the process. In the interests of full disclosure however, Mike is a Manchester City fan...
We are both looking for someone fairly relaxed and social to come into the house but who do not want regular parties at weekends (the occasional impromptu ones are fine ;-))
Transport:
Zone 2. Peckham Rye is the nearest station but buses are where it is at in Peckham. They go everywhere.
The 63 stops outside the door in both directions. It goes north to Kings Cross via Elephant and Castle (Northern and Bakerloo lines in about 10/15 minutes), Southwark (Jubilee line), Blackfriars and Farringdon. Southbound it goes to Honor Oak via Peckham Rye station.
Other notable routes include 345 via Brixton and Clapham, 37 to Putney and 36 to Kennington/Oval, all of which leave from the bus station 5 minutes away. The Old Kent Road is also close and offers further travel options to central London, and within the South East including the 21 to the City.
The Area:
The area is great. There's an awesome library, tons of shops including both supermarkets and independent grocers/Asian supermarkets/fishmongers/butch ers whichever suits you, and Burgess Park (a great park) is a 5 minute walk away down the Surrey Canal path which has tennis courts and a BMX track.
Peckham Rye itself boasts a nice variety of pubs, hipster-esque bars, restaurants, cafes, Peckham Levels and the Bussey Building. East Dulwich is also round the corner.
Looking forward to hearing from you :)
