Double room in 2 bed flat in Peckham/Burgess Park

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a new flatmate to take over the larger double bedroom in the ground floor 2-bed flat I’ve lived in for the past four years (my friend’s moving back up north with her boyfriend).

The flat is in a great location on a quiet road in Peckham, a 2-minute walk from Burgess Park and close to bus routes to Elephant & Castle, Victoria, Vauxhall, Kings Cross or further south to Peckham Rye and New Cross. There’s secure bike storage in the back garden and you can cycle to the river within 15 minutes. The bedroom gets lots of light and is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe and small set of drawers with plenty of space for a desk. We’ve got super-fast 5g broadband which is useful if you need to work from home. The flat has a large open plan living room / dining room / kitchen which also gets lots of light during the day. It’s a great flat if you like cooking as there’s plenty of cupboard / fridge space, a dishwasher and a gas hob.

You’d be sharing with me. I’m 29 and work in diversity & inclusion (WFH 2-3 days a week) and I’ve lived in south east London for about 6 years. Pre-pandemic I went to a few gigs a month and made the most of Barbican’s Monday cheap cinema tickets. Now, I’m out bouldering a couple of nights a week or catching up with friends. If I’m in, I’ll be cooking, watching tv and practicing guitar (not Wonderwall!). In lockdown 1 I got to know all of the quiet cycle routes around central and south east London which I’m happy to share if you’re new to the area.

We’ve made the flat a really nice home so that when work / life is busy we have a nice space to unwind. I’m hoping to keep that vibe, so looking for someone clean and chill who’s interested in living in a peaceful and tidy place. When we’re both in, we can catch up and watch a film if we feel like it but also have our own things going on. LGBTQ friendly. Absolutely no Tories please.

The room is available from 6th February. The contract is rolling with a 1-month notice period.

Rent = £720 per month
Bills = £198 per month max (includes council tax, weekly cleaner, gas and electricity, super-fast broadband, water, TV licence. I also have Netflix, Prime, NowTV and AppleTV which we can share) Bit cheaper in summer when bills are lower.
Deposit = £807.69.
