Room to rent short-term in quiet house in Peckham/Nunhead SE15 with an absolute dryshite (me)

Seomra ar cíos gearrthéarmach i bPeckham/Nunhead SE15 i dteach ciúin le duine an-leadránach (mise), giota níos saoire má tá Gaeilge agat

Sorry for the weird ad heading with random capital letters - i didn't type it like that, god knows what happened there.

Hello, i'm looking for a short-term housemate/lodger, preferably vegetarian/vegan (or 'veggie at home' anyway). Obviously you don't have to be queer/genderqueer but bear in mind i'm both so you'll need to be fine with that.

When i say short-term, length of stay is very flexible, i'm just planning to move to another city hopefully some time this year (not that it's ever easy or quick of course!).

Rent: £750 pcm including bills (praghas cairdiúil do Ghaeilgeoirí, Gaeilge Uladh go háirithe 😅)
Deposit: nah, just don't break stuff
References: nah, just be sound
Pets: possibly - I love dogs who are very polite so please do ask
Council tax band: D, if you're interested (SpareRoom says i have to include it).

Broadband: this is included but it's not great if you work from home. It's fine for most streaming services (must admit i don't use many beyond TG4 and Youtube so can't vouch for the rest) but pretty terrible for videoconferencing so you MIGHT need to do the hotspot thing with your phone (i'm technologically challenged so have no idea what i'm talking about at this point, as you probably tell ha ha).

Accessibility:

Two steps up to the front door, which is key access and is not heavy though needs a (slight) bit of a slam. 14 stairs up to the room. Technically that bathroom (in the photo) is not ensuite but it's next to the room and you'd have pretty much sole use as my room's got an ensuite.

Please no 420 (i'm very neurodivergent and can't stand the smell) and while alcohol's fine, please no drunkenness (i'm in recovery). Of course feel free to go out drinking, i'm not your dad.

Similarly, please no partying or being loud or leaving the place a mess!

The area is pretty quiet. The house backs onto the railway line - i'd say it's a pretty quiet line (no high speed trains) though i'm used to it so best to come and check the place out to make sure.

If you're d/Deaf and use BSL, my signing is pretty rusty but if you're a patient sort and don't mind my halting attempts you would of course be very welcome (and i'd love the practice).

I've an extremely basic grasp of Bosnian so if you speak it and wouldn't mind me practising on you a bit i'd be only delighted.

Oh and i've a small garden though it's not very fancy! There's a sort of step out to that too. It's about half paved and half very mushy grass at the moment.

Trains/buses:

Queens Road (8-10 min walk)
Nunhead (6-8 min walk)
Bus routes 171, 36, 436, 78 (stops within 8-10 min walk), 63 and 12 (10-15 min walk), various others up and down the Old Kent Road (15 min walk)

Supermarkets:

Co-op's the nearest (5 min walk), small Tesco and Sainsbury's (10-15 min walk), big Morrisons's (15-ish min walk), big Sainsbury's about 20 min walk or there are loads of buses, big Tesco probably not really walkable but it's one stop away on the Windrush line (overground).

You'd be sharing with just me, the homeowner. I'm a very quiet and boring 'loony leftie' professional (well i mean i'm in a low-level customer service job and i'm determined to win the next Booker but we all have our delusions).

I'm hoping to find a housemate who's similar, quiet, lefty, professional, boringness is subjective of course.

My main things are: trade union activism, learning languages (currently Irish and Bosnian), i'm a librarian so i read a lot and am always writing crap novels (well hopefully not that crap). I don't go out as much as i should and have become slightly unsociable but i work in customer service and am friendly enough, not a silent brooding villain (nothing wrong with silent brooding villainy, of course).

I'm a dreadful cook and basically live on toast but the kitchen's very nice (it's an open-plan kitchen and living room, or sitting room as i'd call it) and has everything you'd need. Oh i don't have a sofa yet but if you're good at finding bargains hopefully i can get one soon!

We can talk on the phone or Zoom or whatever if you want to check i'm a real human being before the real-life thing 😅
