Double room in Quiet, Victorian house
We have a room becoming free in our Victorian, double fronted, terraced house.
Initially short term, but happy to extend if all goes well.
The room is fully furnished, with a double bed, television, wardrobe, bookcase, desk and chest of drawers.
We have all you need to survive, including a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and internet.
There is a large, shared living room, separate dining room and garden.
You can be as sociable or reclusive as you wish, as long as you are quiet and considerate.
Looking for someone with common sense and the skills to recognise tasks that need doing around the house.
Ability to empty bins/dishwashers/hair out of showers appreciated.
I am an aussie, ex teacher turned chef (so there are often goodies to be sampled) who often works from home. I also do some volunteer work for a refugee charity.
We keep the house very clean. Particularly the kitchen, as I do a lot of recipe testing. So, would best suit a naturally tidy person.
You will be sharing with Laura, a music journalist, who also works in marketing, Chris, who works in events (Currently wfh in Edinburgh, usually with us Mon-Thursday only) and myself.
Laura and Chris often have work to do in the evenings, so we need someone who respects that.
You are welcome to join us anytime at our local for a few pints to watch the Hammers being slaughtered, or for no reason at all.
Definitely would prefer someone who is not a huge red meat eater. Veggie not essential.
Nor anyone who begins frying onions, or fish at 10pm. Bad experience in the past.
However, we do enjoy having friends and neighbours over for impromptu barbecues.
Considerate bathroom users only please, as we have a shared bathroom upstairs + extra toilet and sink downstairs.
Our aim is to be as green as possible by recycling, composting and turning off electrical items and lights when not in use.
So someone who cares about the environment and their carbon footprint would be awesome. Tree hugging not essential.
We also have a #not my cat, who likes to sleep in the shed and screech at the back door for his crunchies. We do not allow him inside the house though...much to his disgust. He is great for backyard cuddles if you need a cat fix.
Rent is inclusive of all bills and council tax.
May suit a post grad student, or an intern.
Strictly non-smoking household.
Close to Stratford, Canary Wharf, London City airport and Excel centre.
Zone 3 but walking distance to zone 2 stations (Stratford, Canning Town).
Excellent transport links to Central
London being close to District, Hammersmith and city, Jubilee and Central lines. Two tube stations ten minutes walking distance away. Also, DLR and overground, including a night bus.
We think of our home as a quiet sanctuary, so if you are looking for a party house this is definitely not the room for you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
This is a gay friendly household.
No numpties, planks, or door slammers please.
I am often away traveling, so someone responsible and mature is essential.
If you send a message and do not have a current advert, could you please supply some information about yourself. Thanks.
Happy to give a video tour.
Please note, we are looking for another woman to join our home.
