*Doing viewings this week*
House with bright well lit rooms spread over 3 floors in quiet estate, 1 min to local shops, 2 mins to Regents Park, 5 mins to tubes stations, 10mins to Bloomsbury universities.
The house was done up last year, all walls repainted and all floors and carpets replaced with a new bathroom and kitchen. Kitchen/living are with dishwasher, washing machine, 1 fridge, 1 fridge freezer, sofa and dining table, a spare room for study / storage, outside seating area and car parking. Mattresses aren't old either
We are Chris (27 from Brighton doing an MA at LSE), Chiara (25 from Twickenham working as an architect), Josh (24 from Bath working in environmental policy) and Leonie (29 from Preston working as a teacher) and I'm 27 doing freelance graphics.
Must have UK bank account with online banking and can set up a direct debit for rent, either a UK guarantor or a 6 month deposit. Please let me know if you have rented in London before or not, your age, your interests, type of nightlife you like, your politics and what kind of social set up you are hoping for.
Hoping for a house that makes the effort to get to know each other properly, go out together, get a house trash tv series going, classic Ikea trip, house halloween, second Christmas, go out, make a proper effort for birthdays as a house etc / exhibitions / nights out / odd talks. Just making the most of living in Central London tbh.
Being 2 mins from Regents Park its also really nice to just eat there / tins in the park whenever the weather is good. Ideally everyone would make it their home and decorate the living spaces together with the art they like, go out properly, trips to Colombia Road flower market could also be nice / local garden centre to make the patio nicer. Are there anythings you fancy doing as a house? It's always a bit awkward writing these kinda things.
It's unlikely we will ever all cook together - the kitchen is too small, and its unrealistic to think 5+ Londoners will ever be plan free the same night, and then still be free - so there is always the spontaneous takeaway (and London's best Mexican Restaurant and Drummond St's £6 all-you-can-eat curry buffets around the corner).
The house is super basic but its location is really great. The estate agents are not amazing, but aren't the worst, they take nagging for non-essentials but if theres a leak they normally send someone that day.
Standard stuff if you have someone new to stay over please post on the group chat so we don't run into a stranger at 3am in the bathroom (obvs ONSs are welcome) and for everyone to help out when they can with awkward house things, like staying in for a plumber. Not really looking for people who only make minor small talk and then take their food to eat alone in their room everyday. It is always a bit of effort to get to know housemates properly - but makes for a much better long term vibe. Bottomless brunch as an icebreaker for sure.
Please include in your message if you are in London to meet in person.
If you can only do skype please include this in your message but it may not work out as it's less easy to get to know someone over skype. Young professionals preferred or mature students who have worked before going back to their studies.
Bills are not included unfortunately, they average £60pcm for gas, electric, water, internet and council tax
Cheers! x
