Hi!
I'm Laura, I've lived in London around this area for the last few years, and I've got a really good flat in a great location with a second room that I'm looking to let for the next few months.
The Flat:
A generously sized penthouse flat, on the 4th floor (sadly no lift!) of a building on Hackney Road. The flat is 2 bed (both pretty big) and your room comes furnished with bed, wardrobes storage etc.
Big living/dining room, with a truly gorgeous orange velvet sofa that seats 5 people easily, tv, lots of storage, and a lovely dining area (seating 6/8 when I acquire more chairs)
Separate kitchen, with all the mod cons - most of which were replaced in the past year. Loads of storage and cupboards, and the views are really cute if you like Mary Poppins (lots of rooftops and chimney stacks). I've kitted it out with all the pots and pans etc (including some very saucy copper induction pans) but there's enough room for you to bring anything you might want to.
Bathroom is new in the past year as well, we don't have a bath sadly but the standing shower is good with decent water pressure. The room itself is fairly spacious, very clean, and a good amount of storage again.
Great views all round and we're above the noise for the most part too. Really central location, near lots of great bars and the wonderful restaurants of Kingsland Road. About 10 minutes from Old Street or Shoreditch High Street. 45 mins walk in to the city (and plenty of nice coffee shops en route).
About me:
I work in a non-profit, before covid I used to be out most nights - I love a beer garden, or a wine bar, with pals from work or my circle of friends in East London. I'm a big foodie, vegetarian, and I have people often for dinner at least a couple of times a month. Quite in to wine - my latest passion is a nice orange, and a lot of my disposable income goes here!
I'm pretty social - not likely to hang about in my room, I like to be in the communal spaces and in general like to be around people. I much prefer watching a movie or whatever together over alone in my bedroom.
Who I'm looking for:
Someone respectful of the space but also pretty chill - I'm easygoing in most things but not looking for a flattie who doesn't clean up after themselves.
Sense of humour - I watch a lot of comedy, and my humour is pretty dry/sarcastic.
Fun, but not too fun - I'm getting on a bit. I love a bottle of wine and a good catch-up, but I save big nights for the weekend, and I don't host the afterparties any more! Not up for kicking clingy strangers out of our house at 6am. Dinner parties encouraged though. And I don't mind what you do when you're out and about, obviously.
Appreciates good food - even if you can't cook it, I can, and I love to cook for people. Sometimes I spend a fiver on a sexy loaf of sourdough (easily done when you get your groceries on farmdrop) and this should ideally not sicken you.
Because times are weird, I'm planning on starting off with a rolling 1-month contract (hence open to short lets). If we gel, our work schedules work, and nobody suddenly has to leave the country, I'm happy to look at longer agreements!
COUPLES - I'm open to a couple for a short-term (i. e 3 months or less) but longer term I think it's too many people in the flat. Rent would be a bit higher for double, £950
PETS - could do a dog, sadly no cats.
