Looking for a new housemate from the start of July 2024.
In the meanwhile I am also very open to 2/3/4 month short term lets whilst I’m looking for a longer term situation.
The flat is in E1 between Whitechapel and Stepney, *really well* situated for transport links including the Elizabeth Line and overground just a five minute walk from the door. Plenty of major bus routes too, including the 254 taking you up through Bethnal Green and Hackney in minutes.
Situated off the main road and in a gated area, the flat is within a 19th central apartment complex, complete with communal gardens and private walkway - it's quiet and pretty beautiful I have to say - you easily forget you're in the heart of the city.
Just across the road is the famous Rinkoff bakery and you're just a little walk from a major sainsbury's, so shopping is easily done as well.
The flat itself is a two bed with separate living room and kitchen-diner, I've lived here together with my cat Lily for nearly two years now and am now looking for someone to join me over the longer term. As you'll see from the pics, the flat is really nicely decorated with the kitchen and bathroom being completely refurbed before I moved in. All the electrical goods are brand new including a really good washer-drier which I think makes small flat sharing much more comfortable!
I have completely furnished and kitted out the flat and certainly all things are very much shareable - I prefer communal living as far as possible, but it does mean that flat isn't suitable for someone who has furniture or large amounts of household goods as there isn't a great deal of space for them.
The room is £975 a month *inclusive of all bills*
For a short term let I can do an all-in weekly rate instead to make it easier.
Deposit we can discuss - for short sublets this may not be necessary.
About me - I'm a musician and university professional, working at Goldsmiths College. I'm very interested in politics, current affairs, theatre, film - the arts generally. I'm gay and I think I would prefer a housemate from the lgbt community and of a fairly similar outlook and world view. An animal lover is a must as Lily will also want to get to know you :-)
I think the ideal scenario is someone who is looking to move in for the long term. I'm on a very flexible lease that allows me to sublet but a longer term tenant would probably preferable join the agreement etc which would be great. I think the best thing to do is agree a period of a number of months after which if we're both happy we can amend the tenancy agreement - but this is all up for discussion however we want to do it. In the case of a longer term agreement there would also be deposit necessary.
For anything more - just send a message - I'm happy to chat
