Hello! We are looking for a new housemate to join our lovely 4-bed in Stockwell as our housemate is (sadly for us, wonderfully for her) moving out to live with family. The rent will be £680 plus around £120 in bills a month, so £800 total, and the room will be available from July (with some flexibility).
The room:
The room is furnished, coming with a double bed, wardrobe, and chest of drawers. The room also has hardwood floors, a fireplace, and a peaceful view of our south-facing garden that lets in tons of natural light.
The house:
Our spacious house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a bath!), a living room, a dining room (which has turned into a home working area), a large kitchen with a dining area, and a nice private garden. The house lets in a lot of natural light, which is a real bonus in the winter. We have all your typical amenities (washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge/freezer, etc.), plus a downstairs sofa bed and a TV. There is plenty of storage space across the house, including a small cellar.
Another big plus is that our home is owned by a lovely and responsive private landlord, so it is in good condition and you won’t need to deal with a letting agent.
The housemates:
Livvie is 25 and currently works in scientific research funding. She enjoys going to the gym, trying new recipes, reading and watching reality TV (her newest obsession is Selling Sunset).
Becca is 28 and works as a family lawyer. She enjoys theatre, exploring new places, food and reading, and is always up for a good chat or house activity.
Logan is a 28-year-old civil servant. In her downtime, she enjoys baking (and sharing these treats with housemates), gardening, music, yoga, Netflix/Disney+ (which are on the TV), and reading. She also loves listening to live bands in a variety of venues or being at the pub with friends.
We all have pretty independent lives and tend to cook separately, but we enjoy catching up over a cup of tea or glass of wine and sometimes have house BBQ’s or house takeaway and movie nights. We’re looking for someone who will want to join in and see the house as a home.
The location:
The house is located on a quiet street just off the main road. It’s ideally situated between Clapham, Brixton, and Battersea, meaning we have excellent takeaway options and a variety of parks (Clapham Common, Brockwell, Battersea, Kennington, and Vauxhall) all within a 30 minute walk. We have great transport links in the area; our house is under a 10 minute walk to both Stockwell and Clapham North tube stations, around a 10 minute walk to Clapham High Street overground, and a short distance to lots of bus routes. There are also many different supermarkets within easy walking distance, including Sainsbury’s, Iceland and Lidl.
