I'm sadly having to say goodbye to my flatmate who is off on her next life adventure abroad and I'm are looking for the right kind of person to move into the flat when she leaves.
I have lived here for 18 months and am looking for someone who will be a long-term tenant :)
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR IN A FLATMATE:
I’m female and in a settled stage of life, and would prefer a female flatmate who’s also a working professional and looking for a calm, respectful home.
Although there is no living room, there is a small cosy communal bean bag area we’ve created, which is also spacious enough for some yoga/meditation if that’s something you enjoy doing.
The flat is on a quiet road and although I have the occasional friend over, this is not a party flat and generally is a quiet, calm and mature household. It's a space to relax, and I'm looking for someone who is looking for that same feeling, and we can respect each others needs regarding this. I also work from home frequently on live sessions and calls so need a quiet space to be able to do my work.
The flat feels very homely - therefore having a clean and tidy flatmate is VERY important! (Especially as it would just be the two of us).
I like to think I'm a chilled and easy going person, always laughing and love a good chit chat in the kitchen, so would look for that same type of personality in anyone who moves in.
THE FLAT:
Good sized kitchen with washing machine. oven, fridge/freezer.
Bathroom - has bathtub and shower combo
Garden - exclusive access to the very large garden at the back which is such a lovely place to spend evenings and weekends relaxing when the weather is good!
The room alone is £775 a month, and bills (gas, electricity, wifi/broadband council tax, water, tv license) separately come to roughly an additional £175 per month.
We pay Band B council tax.
THE ROOM:
A good size double bedroom - comfortably fits double bed, desk and wardrobe and chest of drawers.
Overlooks the back garden so lots of natural light (especially in the morning/early afternoon). Although there is furniture in the photos, it will be rented as unfurnished.
TRANSPORT LINKS AND AMENITIES:
Rectory Road overground station is 7 minute walk, Clapton Station is just under 10 mins. There is a couple of small local shops 5 - 7 mins walk away. Stoke Newington High Street is about 10 - 15 minutes walk with lots of fantastic restaurants, takeaways, convenience stores and general shops, and its just a quick bus down to Dalston (or 20 - 25 minute walk).
DEPOSIT: This is equivalent to a month rent when moving in (£775) alongside the first month rent.
The monthly rent and bills are due on the first of every month. We have contact with our landlord by an independent agent who is fantastic, and who will do all the paperwork regarding the deposit scheme and also will require references.
If you like the sound of the above and think you would be a good fit for the flat based on the above preferences then please do get in contact by email and tell me a bit about yourself! I’ll be arranging first viewings over the next 1–2 weeks. This won’t be first come, first served — I’d like to make sure it’s the right fit for us both, so we’re comfortable sharing the space.
