This is your answer, a lovely 1960s wooden yacht on South Dock.

The marina has secure entrance gates, two shower and toilet blocks (unlimited hot showers included FoC) and a laundrette. Bike storage on site (or on the boat).

Low bills - mooring fees included in rent, no council tax, so just electricity (I averaged around £15 a month) and broadband (if you want it- fast broadband available) Water, toilet block, hot showers etc all included, laundrette is via tokens from the lock office.

The yacht is based on a traditional Scottish fishing boat, and offers accommodation for two, with space to accommodate a further two short term guests ( sofabeds)
The marina is on the banks of the Thames across the river from Canary Wharf. A quiet peaceful area with good transport links, lots of local bars, eateries, shops.

The boat - Enter at the rear of the boat with a small outdoor area with seating for up to four, lovely to sit out in the summer and watch the world and the wildlife (the marina has lots of coots, swans and the occasional grebe)

Enter into the old wheelhouse with two seats and table, captains chair.
Steps down to:
Galley (Kitchen) on right with electric hob (two rings) and microwave and fridge, storage space for crockery, pans etc, and cupboards for food.. LED light
Toilet on left with LED light, and basin with foot pump for running water
through to:
Living area with two sofa benches, and table with drop-down leaf. Sofas convert in single beds x 2. Shelves and lots of storage space. Small wardrobe. Remote control LED lights, with dimmer
Through to bedroom with double bed, LED lights (dimmer), cupboards and drawers under bed, hatch above bed

The Good Bits:

This 1960's boat has oodles of character with huge amounts of mahogany. The Marina is really well equipped with hot showers, toilet block x 2, bins etc. Living on a boat is a really unique experience, a little oasis but really close to the centre of London. Its within easy walking distance from both Canada Water and Surrey Quays tube, or only a couple of minutes from the Thames Clipper dock.
There is a really good diverse community on the marina and the area around has some good pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. A Tesco local is 3 minutes away and Surrey Quays shopping centre with a Tescos Extra is 10 minutes walk. Lots of local restaurants, pubs, post office, etc all within easy walking distance.
The pier for the riverboat (direct to London bridge etc) is 3 minutes away, whilst Canada Water Tube and Surrey Quays Station are around 10-12 mins. Gym 5 minutes.
This must be one of the cheapest ways to get your own space in central London.

The Bad Bits:
Living on a boat is a unique experience! Its not for everyone. She isn't a modern superyacht - she is a 1960s wooden boat, so whilst she has lots of character she isn't a modern luxury Monaco cruiser.
She located in the marina and cannot be moved.


Update - I have decided to sell her rather than rent her out - offers over £14k. Mooring can be easily transferred.
