Furnished Double Room in Sydenham/Forest Hill

How the room can look once you've filled it!

Hello! We have a spare room to rent. We’d love to find someone who’s relaxed and friendly, but who also respects shared spaces and takes pride in keeping the home tidy and clean, just as we do.

We are a friendly couple in our 30s, both working professionals. We’re easy-going and sociable - we enjoy listening to music, the outdoors (climbing, hiking, swimming), watching a good series, travelling, and spending time with friends. We also really value a calm and comfortable home environment.
We’re planning to go travelling in August 2026 (for around 3–4 months), so we’re hoping to find someone we can trust to look after the place while we’re away.

🛏️ The Room
Bright, cosy double room with:
Double bed with mattress and sheets if you want. Although it’s a double bed the room is more suitable for a one person.
Chest of drawers.
There is a clothes rail for you at the entrance to the room.
Additional shelves available.
Lovely calm & homey décor.
Welcome to put photos/posters up on the walls.
There is a small laptop desk available. (Desk space is at a minimum at the moment, can use the living room table if needed).

💼 Remote Working
To be honest, we both work from home a fair bit and there is not lots of space for someone who works 100% remotely. We are flexible, but this maybe isn’t the flat for someone who requires a double monitor every day.

A lovely designed, decorated and cosy maisonette, situated over 2 floors. Lots of plants, books and home made artwork.

Calm, and well maintained home
There is a internal entrance hallway downstairs not included in the pictures.

📍Local Area
Situated on the main road with easy access to Forest Hill High Street (Dartmouth Rd) and Sydenham High Street (Kirkdale/Sydenham Rd), both offering shops, supermarkets, local amenities, pubs and restaurants.
- BONA for pizza is lovely,
- DOMA is new and has a big following just a few doors down.
- St Davids and Mont58 do great coffee and pastries.
- MIND Yoga.
- Sylvian Post and Bird in Hand are good pubs.
- And we love going into Better Things a cute nic-nacs shops thats rotates their stock.
Tesco express and corner shops literally 2 mins from the house! Which is a game changer.
8 min walk to Sydenham Wells park
15 min walk to Horniman Museum
17 min walk to Crystal Palace park

🚆 Transport
10 mins walk to Sydenham Station (Windrush Line & Southern Rail)
12 mins walk to Forest Hill Station (Windrush Line & Southern Rail). Both take you to London Bridge, Shoreditch and Whitechapel in 15-20 mins.
There is a bus stop basically outside the house, which services East Dulwich, Peckham and Brockley. Great to be dropped off right outside the house!
23 min walk to Penge East (National Rail) or Sydenham Hill - which take you to Brixton and Victoria.
There is a hallway space for a bike - we have one each so an extra will be a squeeze but doable.

You’ll be living with a friendly couple in our 30s, both working professionals. We’re easy-going and sociable - we enjoy listening to music, the outdoors, watching a good series, travelling, and spending time with friends and a good sauna - but we also really value a calm and comfortable home environment.
