Who will you be living with?

My name is Stephen and I’ve been living in the flat since 2019. I am a 28-year-old male from Liverpool and work for the NHS in mental health. I’m usually out at the gym/seeing friends of an evening and weekend and like to game/watch TV/cook when I’m in the flat to relax. I’m out some evenings with friends or at my girlfriends’ place. I love an early night but love a few drinks and a night out almost as much.

Preferences for Flatmate

Looking for someone relaxed and sociable to take up the room. My flatmate and good friend is going travelling and moving out mid June.

- Must be a professional. No students.
- No short stays – minimum of one year.
- Would prefer someone of a similar age (24 – 35)
- Someone social who enjoys a good chat after work/likes to make food and hang out. If you’re into fitness and can be a gym/running buddy, then that’s a bonus.
- On the flipside, someone who is respectful of space.
- Nonsmoker
- Guy or girl – no preference as long as we get on.
- I like to keep on top of cleaning/chores but aren’t crazy about it, as long as you’re a similar standard that’s absolutely fine.
- Easy going with sharing food/shopping, or happy to keep it separate.

Flat layout

The flat is on the top floor of a lovely old house with a large, shared garden and front driveway. 6 rooms in total, a very spacious and communal living room/dining area, kitchen, a shared bathroom and attic room for storage. The bedrooms and living room are fully furnished and there is a secure storage area downstairs for bikes. Both bedrooms have a double bed. Feel free to decorate the living room as you like, I have a some decs up already but keen to create a share space. The flat has high ceilings and large windows and lets in a lot of light.

Location – East Albert Road

The flat is in Aigburth between Lark Lane and Ullet Road. Undoubtedly one of, if not the best area to live in Liverpool due to the proximity to Lark Lane, the city centre and Sefton Park. The area is leafy green and has a warm and vibrant feel, especially as we’re moving into summer. Definitely the place to be.

Local Facilities

Princes Park is practically on the doorstep, Sefton Park and Lark Lane are a two minute walk away. Allerton and Smithdown Road are a five-minute drive away and the city centre less than ten. There’s a great gym round the corner at Greenbank which I go to.

Lidl and Tesco are both a two minute drive or short walk away, and Asda and Aldi on Smithdown Road are not far either. The Esso garage on Ullet Road is on your doorstep.
Plenty of choice for bars, pubs, cafés, restaurants and takeaway nearby, especially on Lark Lane.

Other info

The flat is privately rented from a lovely elderly couple who live nearby. As far as landlords go, they’ve been pretty solid, and any maintenance issues/problems have been resolved quickly in the five years I’ve been here. Rent is £550 for the flat, so £275 each (bills not included) and paid on the first of each month. No contract and no deposit needed. We pay bills and council tax into a joint account, and this covers council tax, gas, electric, water and broadband. Energy supplier is Octopus and Wifi is with Sky.
