Hey, I'm Ewan - I am Scottish, self-employed and have owned my home for two years. I'm recently single so looking for someone to move into the spare room as my former partner has moved out.
I like my rugby and cricket so ideally would like someone who is into one or both (I appreciate there are very few Scottish cricket fans, so I have to be realistic..). I enjoy a beer or two and ideally would like a flatmate who is up for watching the rugby on a Friday evening with a few cans. Ideally you will be into food and cooking as I'm pretty keen on it.
I'm also very keen on having someone that is professional, can reliably afford to pay the rent and is clean and tidy. I am a bit of a neat freak so would like someone who feels the same.
I'm not much of a party man so would like to be asked before hosting folk.
I have a cat called Smudge (see photos) - he's very affectionate and no trouble, but you'd likely have to take some responsibility for him if I'm away for work. I travel quite often so am out of the house up to seven nights per month, so you'd have to feed him and play with him. Not a hard task but it's worth making clear!
In the flat we have Apple TV and Virgin TV which covers Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sky Sports and BT Sports. There is also a Sonos music system going through the house and Virgin Fibre Optic Broadband.
There are amazing views from both sides of the flat. From the front you can see Edinburgh Castle which means fireworks at NYE and at the end of the Fringe Festival. From the back you can see the Pentlands and the view from the spare room is great.
There is an open log fire which is really nice in winter. In the kitchen there is the usual gas hob, microwave, oven and in addition there is a high-end coffee brewing machine and grinder (I work in coffee...) as well as a nespresso machine.
I have ordered a clothes rail for the spare room so forgive the sparse look - the previous tenant had some of their own furniture but I'm happy to buy more stuff if you don't have any.
Nearby shops (<15 mins walk) include Sainsbury's, Margiotta, Tesco, Waitrose and some small independents. Local bars (also <15mins walk) include Cloisters, Hanging Bat, Montpeliers, Polwarth Tavern, Brauhaus and Brew Dog.
Looking for someone to move in asap. I've probably forgotten to add more useful info but if there's something you need to know, get in touch!
Cheers
p. s. SpareRoom only allows 9 photos. It's a beautiful flat so had to whittle the numbers down to give a good impression
