Hi, my name is Euan and I’m looking for a flatmate to move into the flat I am currently renting after my current flatmate moves out to live abroad.

About the flat

The flat is a main door flat one story up. located in the Meadowbank/Piershill/Willowbra e area (EH8) right next to Holyrood Park. It’s a pretty quiet area with very good transport links to the rest of the city via bus and has a variety of pubs etc. nearby as well as a supermarket. The flat has a living room, kitchen, dining area, back garden and shared bathroom. The room is a double bedroom, which I’m not going to lie, is a bit cosy, but there is a decent amount of storage elsewhere in the flat, most of which I don’t use and plenty of space to hang out. There is free parking on the street, but it gets pretty busy, you often have to park round the corner. Rent for the room is £450 pcm, and bills come in at £122.50 pcm each (council tax is £140, energy £80 and internet £25, all split down the middle).

About me

I am a 24 year old young professional from Edinburgh working in the spirits industry. I’m sociable, easygoing, clean and enjoy a drink – I’m ideally looking for someone similar. I enjoy music, cooking and occasionally I brew beer. I have a girlfriend who stays at the flat relatively often, but she is also very easy to get on with and is never imposing.

The flat is rented through a letting agency, so the application process will have to go through them. They use a third-party referencing company which requires your previous references and a bit of information about your employment/financial status and what your salary is. If this is going to be an issue, please don’t apply – I’m looking to get the referencing turned around ASAP. The letting agency have actually been great throughout my tenancy and very reasonable for the year that I’ve lived here – quite rare for this city. The deposit they require is a month and a half’s rent (£700).
