Double room in a two-bedroom flat available to rent from the 10th of May 2024. My current flatmate is moving out, so we are looking for a new tenant to move into the flat on a long-term basis to replace him. We currently rent with Southside, and you will be entering into a dual contract with myself as co-tenant. Southside will require you to fill out various forms and provide a deposit, but they are on the whole quite a responsive and reliable agency.
Firstly, a bit about the flat itself. We are on the very quiet but ideally located Glen Street, EH3 6JF, just above the meadows. We are a 20-minute walk to the city centre, and about 10 minutes from the university of Edinburgh main library. Excellent bus connections to the rest of the city on our doorstep, and easy access to local shops, pubs and cafes. The flat includes a shared kitchen, bathroom and living area. Your room is high ceiling and wooden floored, with a double bed, bedside light, table and wardrobe included. Nice views from the room of back gardens and trees, with a West facing window that gets plenty of natural light.
I am a 28-year-old full-time professional, working in the Old Town of Edinburgh. I'm a quiet and easy-going individual, and ideally you will be, too. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, cooking, looking after my house plants, and playing my guitar (the non-amplified type!). We would prefer the new tenant to be a professional working in the area, but students with necessary guarantor information will be considered.
Now the necessary details. The rent per month is £675, bills not included. Our current arrangement is that I pay the electricity bill, whilst you would be paying the council tax (Band C). I also pay for the Wi-Fi, which you are welcome to use if we were to share the cost. Apologies, but Southside require that you must be a non-smoker, and have no pets. No couples either, I'm afraid.
