Princes Street and the New Town are ten minutes away on a bus service that leaves every 3 - 5 minutes and the large shopping complex of Ocean Terminal is an easy seven minute walk. Frequent buses take you to the airport. The Links, a large park, is close by as is the Kirkgate (chemists, banks, supermarkets etc.) and the main high street. Ancient pubs and some of the best restaurants in Edinburgh, including four with Michelin stars, are a few hundred yards from the flat, but you don't have to spend the earth. There are also lots of cheap places to eat and drink along the Water of Leith, set as it is on The Shore in the heart of the old merchant city.
