Large Double Room in 5 Bed House

Hello! A large and clean double rooms on the first floor is available in our 5 bedroom student house from early September 2026 onwards. The room is furnished, has large windows, and shares 2.5 bathrooms half a floor down. The house features an open kitchen/dining area, a garden with rear access, and is located on a quiet street off of Jericho's main drag, while still being close to shops and major bus stops. The city centre is 8 minutes by bus, 5-7 minutes by bike, or a 15-minute walk.

You'd be taking over my room nd joining a group of friendly DPhil students from my course and department at University of Oxford as well as a young professional. Apart from me, there is 1 couple studying physics, 1 girl studying geography, and 1 guy working in industry. The house is clean, quiet, and wholesome. One housemate, working in quantum computing, enjoys going to the gym, playing volleyball, and reading. Another, researching climate physics, enjoys running, rowing, and reading, often cultivating plants/herbs for her allotment. A third, specializing in machine learning for weather, keeps things lively with cooking, board games, and travel. The fourth, working as a sound engineer, moved to the area recently and is laidback, travels with friends, and plays the guitar. The house has a great atmosphere for focused study and the occasional social evening.

The housemates are looking for postgraduate (ideally DPhil) students who would feel at home in a space that balances work with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. They appreciate clean and considerate housemates who enjoy shared meals, good conversations, and the occasional board game or movie night. If you’re looking for a place where you can be both productive and part of a welcoming community, this could be a great fit!

The house is let by Lucy Properties, and with the new renters rights bill, the periodic tenancy will be ending, so you would have to undergo referencing. As an agency, they are really responsive and helpful. The agency requires £706, and the deposit is held by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. Ideally, we'd like to have other students in the house as to avoid incurring council tax.

The table/chairs, lamp, and dresser in the room are mine, but Lucy Properties would put in a desk and dresser if you would like them.
