The foreshore is an RSPB Nature Reserve with prolific wading & woodland birds & other wildlife; Dolphins & seals in the Cromarty Firth can also sometimes be seen from the sitting room & during the summer Ospreys hunting in Udale Bay.

Former lodgers have included a wildlife photographer / author / marine scientist; Most stayed for over a year although term is monthly;
