A kind and friendly older person with bed bound with poor memory due to age is seeking a Sharer for their home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ light help and friendly company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

This person is well-supported with live-out carer visits for all their care needs, but would also like the company and reassurance from having a Sharer to live in their home.

The main role would be for some friendly chats and the friendly reassurance of having someone around their home in the evenings and overnight, plus a little practical help with cooking a few meals, helping to keep the house clean and tidy… and a little gardening if you would like to do that.

The accommodation on offer is a spacious furnished double room with bathroom for sole use, and shared use of the kitchen, sitting room and garden.

The property is in the village of Queen Camel, just 7 miles from Yeovil (15 mins car; 22 mins bus). The village has a pub, shop and doctor’s surgery, but this would best suit a car owner/driver.

The person enjoys watching TV, old musicals, classical music and reading Private Eye and The Oldie. They love company and enjoy talking about a range of topics including what’s going on in the world.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the person’s interests.
