Quiet Double Room with Spectacular Country Views

We are looking for someone to occupy our lovely downstairs double room, with newly renovated private bathroom.

The room is freshly decorated with a new wool carpet. It has a picture window looking across the Cheddar Valley towards the Mendip Hills, and gets lots of sunlight in the evening.

We live on a very quiet lane on a single ridge overlooking the Levels — it is a unique location with truly spectacular views all around. Glastonbury Tor often sits shrouded in mist on the horizon and we are surrounded by orchards — including the world-famous Wilkins Cider Farm, which is just 5mins walk away down a footpath.

We are close to Wells, Glastonbury, Wedmore and Cheddar. Bristol is 35-45mins drive, so is in good commuting distance. There is a direct train to London Paddington from Castle Cary, half an hour’s drive away.

The house is also ideal for working from home. We have fibre broadband and the views and total peace and quiet make it perfect for concentration. You would be very welcome to use the study, which has sliding doors giving straight onto the garden. We find it a truly wonderful place to work.

You would have full access to our generously sized garden to the rear of the property, with no-dig beds for vegetable growing. There is plenty of parking space to the front of the house, and another garden area there too. We have two young cats who are very affectionate and lovely.

About us: we are two joiners and furniture makers who spend most of our time in workshops nearby. We are relaxed and friendly, while being respectful of other people’s space.
