Lovely home seeks new housemate
We are looking for other friendly housemate to share a very spacious, well decorated and appointed house, the aim being to continue a very friendly and sociable home life.
The available room is upstairs in the middle of the house, with a window over the garden, a double bed, a wardrobe and large draw unit / dressing table.
In the rest of the house there is:
A large and well equipped kitchen (including an electric hob and oven, clothes washing machine, clothes dryer and new microwave). The sink and work tops have been recently replaced.
Middle living-room, with two large sofas, music system, freeview TV, electric fireplace and coffee tables, plus storage for books etc.
Garden sun-room with 6 dining table and chairs.
Study/second living-room with a large desk and chair, coffee table, and where a double sofa bed also offers space for ad hoc guests.
A good-sized upstairs bathroom, with a brand new shower (replaced in December 2017) and a downstairs toilet.
At the back of the house is a paved south facing garden (lots of 'summer' sun) where we have tried our hand at lots of different veggies and herbs etc.
There is a garage and access to the rear lane (so no need to clutter the house with our bikes) which has been gated by the council. It would also be possible to use this for a car.
The house is central heated, double glazed and has fast broadband with wireless connection, a land line plus freeview digital TV (with other services available on demand).
The other housemates work at Cardiff University and a housing association.
For the environmentally minded, all energy comes from Ecotricity.
The house is just off Whitchurch Rd, where there is a very good Co-operative, many takeaways, and an increasing amount of other cafes, restaurants and places to socialise. We're also very close to an excellent doctors on Wendel Rd, and of course the Heath hospital and bypass.
Ideally, we'd like a similar aged and sociable professional or older PhD/medical student, who is relatively tidy and likes relaxed and comfortable living. We enjoy going out, Tv watching, a bit of culture, sport and having friends around for dinner.
