Overview
I’m looking for a professional to share my home in S5, very close to the Northern General Hospital. It’s a recently refurbished three‑bed semi with a relaxed, easy‑going feel and a friendly dog.
About the house
The house is a spacious three‑bed semi that’s been fully refurbished over the 6-months. Rooms have been replastered and redecorated, with new carpets and lighting, so it’s a very comfortable, modern place to live rather than a student‑style house share.
There’s a bright kitchen‑diner, dining room and a separate lounge and a secluded back garden that gets plenty of sun. It’s a nice spot for a morning coffee or to sit out in the evening when the weather’s good.
Parking is on‑street only on the road outside the house. Because of that, the place would probably suit someone who doesn’t rely on a car every day. There’s a bus stop a few minutes’ walk away for getting into town, and there’s a Tesco across the road for day‑to‑day shopping.
The room and bathroom
The room available is a very large double – it’s the biggest bedroom in the house. You’ll have your own private bathroom (toilet, sink and shower) just along the corridor, and that bathroom is for your use only.
The room can be furnished or unfurnished, depending on what works best for you. I can provide a bed, bedside table, wardrobe and chest of drawers, or you’re welcome to bring some or all of your own furniture if you prefer.
Bills and practicalities
Rent is £650 per month, with all bills included – council tax, gas, electric, water and broadband.
About me and Willow
You’d be living with just me and my dog, Willow. She’s nearly seven, a basset hound/border collie cross, very chilled and loves company, but is also happy just pottering about. It’s important that you’re genuinely okay living with a dog; if you like giving her attention that’s great, and if you’d rather not, that’s also fine.
The atmosphere here is low‑stress and easy‑going. I run my own business, enjoy cooking and spending a bit of time in the garden, and I’m looking for someone who’s on a similar wavelength.
Who it would suit
This would suit a professional who wants a relaxed, comfortable, stress‑free base to come home to, rather than a very busy shared house. It’s especially convenient if you work at the Northern General Hospital, as it’s only a short walk or a few minutes’ drive away.
Your privacy will always be respected. If you feel like being social, that’s great; if you’d rather have some quiet time to yourself, you’ll never be bothered or made to feel like you have to join in. I’m not a clean freak and nothing needs to be clinical, but it’s important you’re happy to tidy up after yourself and help keep the place from getting messy.
