When I first moved into Burcot road a neighbour helped me carry some boxes from the car and said ‘welcome to the best street in Sheffield’ - sureeee I thought, bet she’s said that for all the other streets she’s lived on.
So with some mild trust issues forming, I got stuck in - immediately added to the street whatsapp groups and seeing how everyone operates like a well oiled machine, I thought damn she might be right, and a year later, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
What makes the street so special then I hear you ask?
- You’re next to meersbook park but you don’t have to walk up the fat hill to get home: idealllll
- The park has a plethora of sunset watching spots and post dinner digestion walks
- i said bread: best coffee/bread nearby
- You wake up to the sounds of birds, for free!?
- In walking distance from Lidl even when you really can’t be arsed to leave the house
We don’t wanna upsell it completely, nowheres perfect, so here’s some gripes:
- chesterfield/london road is a bit of b***h, is what it is
- that’s actually sort of it
Okay so the actual gaff: 3 bedrooms - living room with a bay window for people watching - decent sized kitchen/dining ting - 1 shared bathroom on middle floor - little garden and a shed - pretty cushty all in all
The room that’s available: £500 per month, not including bills and council tax (averages 100/150 each per month) - top floor attic - massif - just have to climb Everest to get there - but an ensuite with shower and toilet on arrival - banging sky light - just gets pretty warm in the summer - unfurnished so you’ll need all the bits n bobs to make it your own!
The gals that live here currently:
Sarah-Jane, newly turned 26, has finally grown some tastebuds and likes tea now, but still prefers tins of baked beans. Does anything to be outside. Runs, cycles or walks backwards away from her problems. Works from home once or twice a week.
Ines, about to turn 29, could be a cucumber in another life with how calm and composed she is, somewhat stoic some would say. An avid reader with enough library loyalty points to give Matilda a run for her money. It’s always a good vibe when she’s on the aux in the kitchen. Also works from home two or three times a week.
Both of us have been fwends for about 2 years, we love going on after work runs together, hosting dinners for all types of dietary requirements, but equally we respect beauty sleep so we can work hard n play hard.
Who we’re looking for asappp: A gal in similar age range to us, (no students or post docs etc sorry not sorry!) preferably someone who doesn’t work from home more than once or twice a week too - looking for someone to slot in for the long haul and wanting good house vibes tbh - let us know a bit about you and/or what your fav late night cereal is xxx
