Homeshare Available in Bridge of Allan, Stirling

Toni, a friendly Canadian who has lived in Scotland for 60 years, is seeking a Sharer to give her up to 10 hours household help and company per week, and offer the reassurance of an overnight presence, in exchange for accommodation within her comfortable home.

The available accommodation is the whole of the second floor of the house, including a double bedroom with views of the nearby hills, a private ensuite bathroom, a study room and a deep storage cupboard. The shared areas include a homely and tidy shared lounge on the first floor, a shared kitchen on the ground floor and a garden with a shed that could be used for bicycle storage. Facilities include broadband, tv, a washing machine and free on-street parking. There is a fortnightly gardener and a weekly cleaner who help keep the public areas in tidy order.

The property is located on a quiet residential street adjoining a public park featuring the river Allan Water. There is a bus stop within a 2-minute walk accessing central Stirling and beyond, cafés and a supermarket are within 10 minute walk, and Stirling University or Bridge of Allan Train Station are within a 20-minute walk.

Toni is fit, healthy, spirited and quite independent. She enjoys painting, playing chamber and trad music on her violin, the outdoors and nature, conversations and has recently taken up Backgammon. She also enjoys her weekly yoga class and going for walks.

Toni would particularly value the reassurance and company of having a friendly person at her home in the evenings and overnight, and would like someone who is happy to offer an arm to walk around the local park, to cook and share the occasional dinner and someone who can drive her (in your / her car) for the weekly grocery shop. Someone who enjoys conversation and perhaps a board game, watches a film now and then, would also be a good match. Musicians, cat owners and people with a sense of humour would be very welcome.

The ideal Sharer will be female or male, positive, friendly, kind and reliable, who has some common interests and would enjoy sharing some time together. You should plan to live in this home for at least 9 months. Holidays are, of course, allowed but should be agreed in advance so that alternative arrangements can be made with Toni’s daughter.
