Tranquil Farmhouse Attic Room (From June 2024)

28th March 2024 Update: we are still looking for the right person to join our little community. The room is now available from June 2024 due to delayed construction works.

We are not just looking to fill the room, but for someone on a similar wavelength to join us.

DUE TO A HIGH VOLUME OF MESSAGES, enquiries without a thoughtful introduction will not be responded to.

We are 3 women aged 29 - 31, and due to this, would like to live with someone who is also female, and at a similar point in life to us. We think that the ideal age range for a new housemate is between 25 - 40.

We offer a tranquil _unfurnished_ attic room with storage corridor and loo, within in a large 15th century farmhouse in Easton.

The rent is £400 all in, which includes a weekly cleaning fee from our excellent and friendly cleaner.

The room is very peaceful, and at quite a distance from other rooms in the house. It is separated from the other attic bedroom by a long room which is sometimes used as a guest room.

About us:

Two of us are painter/decorators who work locally, and one is a photographer, who works in London. She is away working for quite long stretches sometimes, but also at the farm quite a lot too. She is responsible for the general management and administration to do with the farmhouse, and manages this remotely whilst she's away.

In our free time, we love to be in nature, sea swim, garden, yoga, read, meditate, cook, relax, berry-pick, and soak up the delights of Suffolk.

We have put a lot of love and time into making this property a joy to live in, and we treat it with great care, and keep it ship-shape.

We are communally minded, and regularly help each other out with chores such as gardening and watering the garden, changing bird feeders, emptying the compost and general household things.

By joining this space as a housemate it is ESSENTIAL that you are happy to participate in household chores and be an active part of our little community.

About you:

• You are looking to move to a peaceful rural location, make new friends and invest in a communal space

• You have knowledge of gardening and plants, or would like to learn more

• You have skills and knowledge of any kind that you would like to share (perhaps you have a vision to run an arts workshop)?

• You enjoy socialising and co-hosting parties, and sharing household dinners from time to time

• You are a good communicator, and happy to regularly communicate on our household Whatsapp groups. Due to the scale of the place, we need to keep in touch about admin and general bits and bobs! We have one group for general chit chat, one for admin, and one for plumbing and heating. (In this ancient house, there can be hiccups in this area from time to time)!

• You would not be shy about asking others for help with projects and visions of yours! Perhaps you would like to run workshops, create a sculpture, etc.

This is not a pressurised environment, and of course everyone has different capacities dependent on their current workload and general stress level.
We just need to make it known that in order to keep a space such as this a lovely place to live in, we all need to help each other out, and enjoy doing so for the most part! If these things sound like they would be a drag for you, then this would not be your ideal space.

Some further notes about the property:

The property has a large shared kitchen, living space, dining space, guest room, and several bathrooms with both bathtubs and showers. There is a very large garden with pond and wild elements, and a guest cabin, where it is pleasant to do yoga on summer mornings!

The property has plenty of parking.

Small building projects are taking place on the grounds for the next few years. This will not be every day, but when they are happening, would be taking place between 08:00 - 17:00.
