Housemate wanted, to come and share with the existing occupants in a gorgeous property with a large garden, on the River Wey, in Farnham, Surrey, from early November onwards.

The room coming available soon is a very large elegant double room with three windows.

This would suit a single person, or a couple with ONE car only.

The rent is £750, pcm, all inclusive.

It is discounted from its usual rent because anyone taking it will need to be willing to share a bathroom with a man who will be providing voluntary support for the landlady's elderly Dad who lives in a cabin in the garden (not inside the house).

Both this double room, and the house itself offer plenty of space for working or studying.

The house sits between Farnham and Wrecclesham - easily walking or cycling distance to the station, town and bus routes, as long as you don't mind a rural unlit lane. There's a Co-Op nearby, too.

The owner is self-employed and in her fifties. She aims to share the house, for the foreseeable future, with emotionally intelligent, companionable people, with similar values, likely to be aged between 40 and 60, but she would take a younger person if they seemed mature.

The owner is female, straight, self-aware, stable, candid, insightful, warm, lively and intelligent; a rabid atheist, runs a charity and is a lawyer, working from home. She is an experienced and relaxed landlady, with happy tenants a clear priority.

She's not, personally, into hunting, shooting, fishing, cricket, tennis, bridge or polo, organised religion, alternative healing, party politics, narcissism, conspicuous consumption or unrestrained neediness. She is a normal busy person with wide-ranging concerns regarding society, social care, work and family, resilience, and a sense of humour, just looking for like-minded others.

The other current sharer is from South America, and is a private mature person, used to sharing accommodation respectfully, and good at domesticity.

You might be male or female. You might be a professional person, or doing something creative or practical; you might be retired or still working. You might be a couple if you have just one car.

There are no pre-conceptions about your profile, really, because it would be the mix of our individual personalities that would determine whether we could hit it off. The relationship between our interests, genders, security of your financial situation and the timing of your need for accommodation, and the elderly gentleman's need for support, all need to work together: the owner is flexible and has an open mind.

Younger people than those in their thirties probably would not find the culture in the house lively enough. People who have sustained SERIOUS damage from life’s trials, or with addiction issues related to alcohol, drugs, Tinder, online gambling, over-eating or compulsive lying should just move along, please.

People are welcome to have partners / children / other relatives visit from time to time by arrangement. But this is not a setting for a family, however urgent your situation.

If you have a pet, it would need NOT to be a cat or a dog. Other creatures are considered if in a tank, cage or hutch!

The only House Rules are that you understand the need to clean up after yourself after using the kitchen, and keep your own bathroom clean. There is a fridge and kitchen cupboard space for each room occupant.

Plus, if you can't do without smoking, it has to be ONLY outside, not out of the bedroom window.

You need to be financially reliable from month to month - and you need a reference from an employer/customer, and a current housing setting, landlord or co-sharers.

You would need to be actually interested in contributing to the concept of 'a household' feel, not always reclusive in the evenings.

Any car, if you have one, needs to be smallish, as the parking is reliable but not unlimited.

The house is up a single track pot-holed road but the destination is worth the wiggling. There's room to put a bike in the shed.

There's no point in enquiring about this room if you need accommodation sooner than November, please note.
