Hi Everyone...
I'm excited to be looking for another lodger for my house in Far Headingley after a couple years "holiday"!
I've been renting out the spare rooms in this house for over 10 years... It seems to work really well, with my former flatmates giving amazing feedback, so thought I'd get back into it :-)
Why do I think it works...
1) It's your home, not yet another soulless house
Not quite sure why... but pretty much every previous flatmate has said the same... I think its partially because of the relaxed atmosphere... historically we've tended to chill out together in the evenings, cook for each other and generally enjoy the place!
2) Nice bed rooms...
I've a principle that if it's not good enough for me, its not good enough for you! Which hopefully you'll see in the small things like...
- Quality Simba mattresses to sleep on. (Brand new)
- Nice furniture (which I keep adding to over the years when flatmates felt something was missing eg full length mirrors!!)
- relaxed view about making it you're own space... although please double check before you start drilling holes in walls!
3) Great kitchen...
I kinda like cooking, so its a packed kitchen... lots of storage space, tons of pots and pans, super dishwasher and a huge fridge!
4) Huge bathroom
Like... huge... bigger than most bedrooms!
Massive double bath (that has its own steps), separate walk-in shower... and a host of plants that I dont water enough as I've got a second smaller bathroom that I use!
5) Really nice sitting room...
Love this room, super relaxed, lots of space, really good quality sofa bed.... Because if you want people to stay over, then I'm buggered if they are not getting a good nights sleep! (Speaking of which, there is a third spare room that I'm not currently planningto rent out... so lots of options!)
6) Cleaner every other week, included in price
I'm super busy... and dont want to waste my weekend cleaning... guessing you'll be the same!
Plus... coming home to a clean house is the best!
Boring bits.
Its got all the boring things included in the price... tv, netflix, utilities, other stuff I've forgotten about!
Other things...
It works well for mature PhD students, had 3 in the past... One stayed for 4 years!
Thats about it...
