I have a double room in my bungalow for rent. It’s not a huge bungalow but it’s has worked really well with previous lodgers.
I have 2 largish dogs so if you don’t like dogs stop reading now !
It’s a lovely, clean, quiet room looking out on to a small garden and a chicken /duck coop and run. There is a screen to put across the door if you’d rather the dogs kept out !
The bathroom has a shower over a bath nothing more I can say about that.
Again with the kitchen it has all the usual stuff. washing machine, air fryer, cooker, microwave, large fridgefreezer etc.
The bedroom has a freeview TV but it is only the lounge that has SKY for us to watch (also Netflix if you are hooked on any of their programmes!!)
There is a dining room that I have been using as a kind of laundry room but it can equally be used as an office if you occasionally work from home. The broadband router is already in there along with my computer.
About me … I’m an animal lover. I retired 6 (nearly 7 ) years ago. I cannot believe that I’m 61 ….How did that happen !!? But you’re as young as you feel right!!
If I’m not walking the dogs, I’m pottering with the chickens and ducks or the guinea pigs in the garden (don’t worry, apart from the dogs they all live outside). I’m not a party animal (anymore) but I’m happy to have a chat over a glass of red wine in the evening (or not if you’d rather)!
I am conscious that dogs come with a certain amount of doggyness. A dog lover is essential and someone who understands this would be preferred. I do spend a lot of time hoovering etc. to ensure the house is always clean. I hope they don’t put prospective lodgers off…. The dogs don’t bark so they are unlikely to disturb you.
There is a secure garage to keep bikes/canoes/keep fit equipment etc if you have any.
I’m on the outskirts of town (about a mile and a bit to Sainsburys). There is a bus to town from the end of the road.
I think I’m pretty easygoing. In fact not a lot bothers me. My only real bugbear is wasting/using unnecessary electricity/gas and water. They are so expensive now that I really need any lodger to respect that and not waste any !! ( I suspect most landlords/landlady’s feel the same these days even if they don’t say it in their advert)!
Don’t worry I don’t expect you to sit in the dark with a candle I’m not that bad !!! 🕯️
There are lovely fields adjacent to the house to walk across and the river is a couple of fields away.
There is plenty of safe on street parking with no restrictions and an off street parking spot you can use.
As there would just be the 2 of us there is no fight for the bathroom in the morning. I’m not an early riser so it would be like I’m not there until 9.30-10am !
The length of stay is negotiable as is the minimum age.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions or want to view.
I am ideally after a female lodger however I’ll consider a male for a short term let.
Hopefully I can find the right person.
This is a single occupancy room.
I can be a little flexible with the dates available.
