Would you like some affordable accommodation? Are you looking to enter a homely, friendly house?
Homeshare Gloucestershire are delighted to offer a new opportunity to live in a comfortable home in Royal Wotton Bassett! If you are interested in affordable accommodation in return for just 10 hours a week providing companionship then read below to find out more.
Homeshare Gloucestershire connects people looking for some companionship within the home (Householders) with those who would appreciate entering into homely accommodation with affordable rent (Sharers).
The Opportunity:
To share a home with a friendly and chatty 83 year-old lady, who enjoys flower arranging, scrabble, good food, going to church and watching TV (Grand Designs, To the Manor Born, Doc Martin and Sound of Music). She suffers with macular degeneration and early stage Dementia. The Sharer would ideally be a friendly, upbeat, positive, tidy and helpful person who would enjoy spending some time with the Householder. Chatting over a cup of tea, cooking and sharing an evening meal and generally being home overnight would be the expectations of this agreement. The Householder loves cats, so cat owners are encouraged to apply. The Householder would prefer a female Sharer.
The House:
A beautiful four bedroom property in Royal Wotton Bassett with a lovely garden at the back and private parking at the front. The home is 10 minutes’ drive to the M4, 15 minutes’ drive to Swindon, 30 minutes’ drive to Chippenham and just under one hour’s drive to Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham and Gloucester. The room available is a double bedroom with its own toilet, a shared access to bathroom (only shared with family when they stay over). There is an additional downstairs toilet as well as a lounge, dining room, office and kitchen which will all be shared. There is an area at the top of the stairs, which the Sharer could use as an office or relaxation area (if working from home).
The Homeshare Agreement:
As part of this low cost living arrangement, you would give only 10 hours of your time each week in lieu of rent. On an average week, you'd spend the 10 hours of companionship cooking, sharing meals, chatting and watching TV. The lady and her family are looking for the reassurance of having someone at home overnight, so the expectation of being home most evenings would need to be met.
A contribution to council tax and utility bills of £80/month would have to be made to the Householder.
This is a position advertised on behalf of the Householder. We carry out reference checks and an enhanced DBS check prior to introducing you to the Householder.
Please note, due to the nature of this arrangement, only fully COVID vaccinated people will be considered.
