Beverley area sought
Beverley area sought. Preferably central Beverley.
Happy to do my share of the cleaning.
I am a mature male (60), easy-going, with good references from previous landlords and happy to do my share of the cleaning. Never missed a rent payment ever in 15 years. Age is not an issue for me (if younger current tenants in their 20's/30's inc. students are happy to share with ME then that's fine.
I am in no rush to move and my current tenancy agreement stipulates that I need to give a minimum of one month's notice to my current landlord. I am happy to pay a holding deposit up front (£100?) to secure a room (I would need an informal receipt for the £100) with that money coming off the first months's rent - and if I subsequently didn't actually move in by the agreed date you keep the £100. - Just so you would know I'm not wasting your time.
NOT interested in temporary accommodation. Long-term only (at least a couple of years but maybe a fair bit longer). No sub-lets thank you.
I'm looking for a room in a house or flat (with use of facilities) in Beverley as close to the town centre as possible (I don't drive).
Inclusive in the rent (essential) ; All bills, use of communal lounge, wi-fi, good clean cooking facilities.
Preferable - a large TV in the communal area/lounge.
Preferably also a TV aerial connection in the bedroom - or if not I would be willing to pay for a split off from the existing aerial connection to supply the room.
If the house or flat has multiple tenants then the room must have a secure door lock. This is essential. Not so much because of the other tenants but because their visiting friends are essentially complete strangers.
I am now pretty much retired and have a small income from investments.
I am a fairly quiet person. Not a 'party animal' at all and not into loud music (not without headphones anyway) and I'm considerate toward others. My interests are cinema, nice food, watching films and documentaries and I am thinking about taking up abstract painting again.
Why am I looking to move? Because there is little conversation / interaction in the house I am living in. I have old friends but they live hundreds of miles away.
In the HMO where I am living, generally each person disappears into their room in the evening and then that's it.
I like to converse in a lounge in the evening (ideally becoming friends) even if it's just watching the news or to watch a few funny videos on youtube with others. Also my available cupboard space here is a bit inadequate. Why York/Beverley/Chester? I like a nice environment, the history and I think there will be more to do than where I am currently (Scarborough). Scarborough is a boring town esp. so in winter.
I am not looking to relocate to the suburbs with a long commute into the town centre. I need to be central. If I sound like the sort of person you would get on well with please get in touch.
