The best housemate ever in need of a room

Hi, I’m Paris.

I’m 31, work in consulting, and currently looking for a new place thanks to the classic London rite of passage that is a Section 21 notice. My current housemates are also heading off to south-west London, so it feels like the right time for a fresh start.

I’ve lived in house shares for over 10 years and have genuinely made some amazing friendships from them. Some of my closest friends started out as random people I met through SpareRoom. That said, I already have a great group of friends in London, so I’m not looking for the house to be my entire social life.

What I am looking for is that nice middle ground. People who have their own lives but are still happy to have a chat in the kitchen, share a glass of wine, watch an episode of something terrible, or have a deep dive on a Tuesday night.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me in a pub garden with friends, trying a new restaurant, at the sauna pretending I’m prioritising wellness, or recovering from the week with Real Housewives. I’m also a Scorpio, which will either mean something to you or absolutely nothing at all.

Work-wise, my schedule varies quite a bit. Some weeks I’m in a London office a couple of days, other weeks I’m travelling or away with clients. As much as I enjoy being out and about, home is definitely my safe space, so I’m looking for somewhere that feels calm, comfortable and easy to live in.

As a housemate, I’m tidy, considerate and pretty low-drama. I’ve done enough years of London house sharing to know what makes a good one: communication, mutual respect and occasionally replacing the loo roll before it reaches a cardboard tube.
