Hello all! I hope all who's reading my ad is having a lovely Summer 2026.

Introduction: My name is Sonny, I'm 31, currently living in East Central and work as a strategic advisor within shareholder activism & governance in the City of London. I grew up in the north, but moved to London and have been living here for 5 years.

Motivations: My motivation for looking for a new home is that I've been in my current place for the last 19 months. While my intention living here has always been long-term geared, unfortunately, the landlady has decided to not renew the lease for any of us as she intends for her daughter to move into the whole accommodation upon the renewal date. I have previously resided in homes across West London, North London in addition to currently East Central, so it's been interesting understanding how London's various boroughs function.

Home characteristics: I am seeking a home for the long-term which can provide a double room in Zone 1/2. I have no defined location, that said would prefer somewhere either fairly localised to the City or is decently connected to it than residing too far out or has limited transport options. I understand I may need some flexibility it's just there's something about the bustle culture of the city which is quite magnetic. Hopefully, from today my window to see yourselves, the home and then dot 'i's' and cross 't's' would be from the end June to any time in July. For your awareness, my current residence lease expires 31st July. Nevertheless, for the right place I could try leave my things in storage and wait until a move in during August.

Budget: My estimated budget with bills is circa. £1000-£1300, preferably. I can be flexible on the upper depending on if the right space is there. I've seen some really amazing places on here for that budget having a look over the last year, so I'm being optimistic knowing it's still possible!!

Room in Flat/House

-A room to comfortably fit a medium size desk and chair for personal study; please note I work in the office 3 days a week. I do also enjoy some quiet, personal study and reading at home too. My current desk's dimensions are ~4ft x ~2ft.
-Decent storage facilities for clothing / books.
-An en-suite and/or shared living room would be cherry on top, however it is not mandatory providing the washroom facilities are usually shared with just one other person in order to provide sufficient time for everyone's needs.
-Connected and fairly reliable transport links to the City, if not easily walkable distance (up to 45 mins each way) into the City.
-It would be nice to have a shared living space to socialise in from time to time, or to spend some time with flatmates if and when we can get time to do so. However, I understand everybody has individual priorities.

A Bit More About Me:

-I work "9-5" during the week (sometimes longer during peak season) and then have after-work activities amongst fitness, rowing, languages, ballet and reading. I also have an interest in biotechnology, fashion and music if anyone is keen to catch up and discuss. Trying to dedicate time to wind down, relax, explore the city on weekends.
-I am completely accommodating of respecting people's boundaries and understand social batteries vary with everyone; it could be nice every now and again to socialise in-house or to go out over a meal/drinks or explore something in the city. In my current place, we have different work schedules and don't have a shared living space but we like to catch up weekly or fortnightly to ensure our living space remains a friendly environment.

-I'm a non-smoker and ensure in keeping a clean and tidy home & more importantly treating the house/flat like a home.

Drop me a message if you'd like to know more.
Please, no agents or live-in landlord messages. Many Thanks.
I have had varied experiences and found I would prefer engaging with live-out landlords, other roommates (via no agents again preferably) or potential buddy ups.
