Hey, I’m Lauren and I’m a 26 year old PhD student and Graduate Teaching Assistant based at King’s College London, in Film Studies. I’m looking to move as my flatmates are variously finishing up their studies and moving in with their partners so it feels like our time together is coming to a close :) Move in is quite flexible as a result.

I’m quite flexible on location, but would want a reasonable commute to the Strand where I’m based and work nearly every day. I’m currently based in Tower Hamlets and I really like it here, so would ideally like to stay here if I can. I’m similarly open to different household arrangements (have been in many different kinds of flat share over 8 years!!) but I think I would generally prefer to live with one or two other people— postgraduate students would also be ideal. Definitely open to bigger flat shares, though, especially those with a more communal atmosphere. Looking for something long-term that feels more homely than functional. Preference for furnished or partly furnished room. Would also prefer to rent directly from a private landlord rather than through an agent. I’m also happy to contribute to council tax payments if living with non-students.

I’m a respectful and friendly flatmate, and I generally like my alone time to recharge as PhD studies are very draining and I basically work to a full time schedule. I looove going to the cinema (I run a film club), art exhibitions, and gigs in my spare time, as well as going on absurdly long walks. I’m a leftist and would prefer to live with people with similar politics. I’m also vegan; it doesn’t bother me if you’re not but it’s good if you are and would like to cook together sometime! My dream is to live with a cat someday, if you’d want to help facilitate this dream with me :)

Ideal rent really is the lower the better - £700-£800 would be perfect though I know that rents are just getting higher and higher, especially in the locations I’m looking in, so happy to push the budget up. Have always paid rent on time, and have a UK-based guarantor.
