Exchange Student Seeking (ideally) Double Room

Hello,

I'm Laura, I'm a 24 and originally from Gloucestershire, I am currently studying at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in The Netherlands and will be completing an exchange semester from September 2026 - January 2027 (I know doing exchange to your country of birth is odd, it's complicated!). I am open to living either within Exeter, and then ideally not too long a walk from main amenities as I am used to living in a small city where everything is easily accessible by foot or bike, or a little further out in one of the villages as I do have a car and very much want to make the most of having the countryside near me again whilst I am here. If this was the case a parking space would be essential.

I have lived since I was 19 in a form of shared accomodation, be it student houses, hostels whilst travelling, or my bosses homes when living on site at jobs so I know how to live and get on with housemates. I am respectful and kind. I am a sports fan and like to watch and take part is a range of sports/activities when my ailing body allows! I am a big fan of nature and hiking and hope (whilst the weather allows) to make the most of this too! I do enjoy checking out bars and places to eat, and though I will be studying I don't plan to be living the full 'student lifestyle'. I would like to find somewhere that I can feel like im not just co-existing with the other people in the house, whilst I don't want to live in anyones pocket and value my own time and space, as I know everyone does, I hope to spend some time with who I'm living with be it if its just for a chat and cooking together every now and then.

I have grown up with cats, a few dogs, Dogsit, have horses (in Gloucestershire), and have worked on a farm so I am very comfortable living with pets and hope they would be happy with me too!

I would ideally like a double room but would be open to a spacious single in the right place. I do like to cook so a functioning kitchen would be nice, though I can live without an oven (turns out they're not so common in flats in The Netherlands).
