Hi! I’m Ruth (they/them), I’m an artist from the West Midlands and I’ve been living in London for 5 years and I’m looking to move to a more accessible house as I am a wheelchair user, with my cat 🐱 My budget is dependant on area but is around £1000 for my share of a 2 bed flat.

I am putting out feelers for a housemate to find a ground floor flat somewhere in North West London. I have regular appts and hospital trips to Harrow so I’d need to be somewhere either in Harrow or on the Metropolitan line/Jubilee line with close distance to an accessible station.

About me

I’m an artist by profession, I paint and have my own online shop and social media where I sell my art, and I spend 80% of my time at home due to my chronic illnesses. I am very clean and tidy, despite being non-binary I do infact do my dishes ;) I am 25 years old, sober, very much a homebody but when I’m able to will go out to meet friends or pop to the shops a few times a fortnight.

I would love to have a housemate that I can hang out with from time to time, either having breakfast or dinner together, watching TV or just hanging out and sending each other tiktoks to review on the spot.

I am quiet and keep to myself during the day as that’s when I work from home/rest. I spend a lot of time resting in my room, so you’ll see me a few times a week.

I do enjoy having a housemate where we might grab something from the shop for each other, have a cuppa before bed or watch reality TV when it’s on. I would prefer to live with someone who also doesn’t really party or have loud gatherings 😝

I’m quite sensitive to sound due to my chronic illnesses so I’m looking to live somewhere quiet, with good links to get in easily to central as I do pop into town regularly. I would not be comfortable living with someone who does drugs, including 🍃, no judgement but it’s not for me! Alcohol is fine as long as you aren’t someone who drinks a lot/regularly is drunk at home or where alcohol is a big part of your life. (Once again, no judgement, just not my thing)

From time to time I love to bake, and have rustled up many delights such as cakes, tarts, biscuits and other sweet treats which I love to share with my current household!

The cat
I would need to live with no other pets as my cat is very nervous and hates other animals (sorry!). She is a very sweet, cuddly cat once she warms up to you!

Athena is 7 years old, only has 3 teeth and loves to play outside, snuggle up on a heat pad
or catch leaves outside.

My limits

If we were to share together, I would either need to hire a cleaner to do the majority of the housework (hoovering, mopping, keeping the common areas clean), which you can either share the fee and have them clean for you too, or I can have it just for myself.

I do have a powerchair which means I would need a ground floor flat with ample space to get around, an accessible bathroom and a ramp at the front door (will provide ramp, obvs). Would also love a garden for the ratcatcher 🐱

All I want is a nice, quiet, easy home to come back to and to live in. I’m not looking to move immediately, and if you would be interested in getting to know each other I’d love to get a coffee and chat.

Thanks for reading and please get in touch if you’d be interested!
